Summary: War is no place for children or family, and despite Seteth knowing such a fact. It still came as a heartbreaking shock for what happened.

Time and life always seemed to move a little fast for Seteth’s liking and nothing ever stayed in one place for very long. It could make him feel like there was no power or control in his life and perhaps that is why Seteth is strict with rules. Rules ensure control, management of effort and time, and power.

However, it was the first time that his wish for life to slow down and freeze a little was the same day when Seteth wished - no, begged for it to stop within altogether. The pure, disgustingly human sound of pain that came from his screams and cries had been enough for everything and everyone to pause, and wonder what resulted in the nose.

It wasn’t until they saw him race forward as if the devil was on his heels. It wasn’t until he suddenly stopped moving and stood over a fallen figure. It wasn’t until they saw him drop to his knees and curl his body around the person. It wasn’t until he said her name, Flayn.
