…Someone tried to kill me!
A dopey distracted driver was looking right at me (light flashing, jersey light and bright), then just pulled out right on top on me. It’s my rear wheel you can see in the foreground - I had to pump hard to escape being hit; i.e., the car is not backing off - I am powering forwards. A very close call. If I’d been hit my friend Donna (who is in shot) would have gone down too. The Fly6 captured it all; so had it gone pear-shaped, I would have submitted the footage to the police. As it turned out, I think the driver got a terrible shock, and hopefully learned a lesson.
The Fast & The Furiously Fab 16 January 2016 I got home to find a $200 speeding fine in the post and my first ever demerit points in 38 years of driving. Growl. It was at a point on the freway where the limit drops from 100kph to 80kph but you have to change across lanes to avoid being funneled into the city. The Husb (somewhat tardily) enlightened me to the permanent speed camera set up there. They must make millions.
Aah well, what is, is, and luckily I have some money to pay it (but jeez I could have splurged on a fancy jersey with that money). BUT I also came home to nice surprises too. Not one to be dictated to, The Husb doesn’t do Valentines Day, but he is a suprise gift-giver, and I came home to two pairs of gloriously gaudy cycling socks. Love ‘em! BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. I signed for a DHL delivery which just happened to contain another not-a-Valentines-Day present. It’s red and pulses like a heart…MY VERY OWN FLY6! Thanks Honey. ❤

So I took my @cycliq #fly6 with me on the #mtb ride today. I was fairly impressed by the stability of the camera as it was mounted on my seatpost and I ride a hardtail. So, info line said #matsonhilltrail was open this morning. I rode about 200 meters in and turned around as the trail was greasy as it could be. I’m sure you’ll figure out which pic was from the greasy section and how that impacted the camera. Early morning ride today. The pics of the truck/trailer-he had the truck far enough away but didn’t realize his trailer was a bit wider than his truck, kinda close for my comfort.
