A ripple in the water.
Raven tends to overthink. Tends to go over the pros and cons of a decision in her head until one clear point comes out of it.
This was the one thing that she didn’t need a minute to think about. Legacy Day would be her’s to declare rebellion, declare that the expectation of her to just walk into a predestined life was not what she wanted.
To willingly walk to her death is not in her own book. It’s in theirs!
Raven would oppose thousands if it meant she got to live a life where she was happy for once! Not compressed into a tiny box because some can’t comprehend the cards they’ve been dealt are awful.
If she was the only one left with a voice, Raven would use it.
She’d become a ripple in the water. A small nuisance in the circle of life that Ever After had bred for generations.
If it took her years (not that she had years Grimm was persistent she signs that year) one day they would understand why she had to compromise Apple’s happily ever after to get her own.
Not for selfish reasons, no. Only if those before her could experience the pain of being outcasted, being persecuted and shoved in chains for the rest of their lives.
Then they’d see why new legacies should be formed. See that tradition was not always the right pathway for the future.
Maybe one day her ripple would become a wave. Large enough to cause change.
But for now Legacy Day would be the start. A small change with big problems.
