transjapanese but.. yes, as ive had a hyperfixation on japanese culture for the longest time.

politeness & using the right suffixes (i.e , -san, -kun, -sama) is key in communication

spiritual practices such as bowing under the ⛩️ & treating them with reverence (as they are gates for spirits) also are really good.
