i think kris and noelle’s dynamic, or at least how i see it, is so interesting. they grew up together, close as siblings, but they slowly drifted apart. but they can’t get very far. they live next door, they have the same classes, they go to the festival every year, they talk, but it will never be the same, never can be the same. forced apart by a tragedy, forced together by something noelle doesn’t understand and something kris despises. they know everything about the other person, they’re as close as you can be without sharing a body and theyre terrified of admitting they still care about you bc that would mean admitting they lost another person they care about. yet they also hate what the other stands for, loss and heart break and the fact that they are alone now. it doesn’t really matter if it’s platonic, romantic or something else entirely, they can never be together.

They know each other, they had little boundaries, but now they must sit with that information as they barely speak. their feelings for eachother are a mix of platonic love and romantic yearning along with the need to have someone. but it really doesn’t matter what it is, they can’t have each other, even if they wanted it.
