Just some Winter fluff, for @cavillsthighs writing challenge. Â
Sy and an unnamed OFC
PG 13, just some spicy language, no smut
Word count: 1300ish
It had been a cold, miserable day. The snow was turning into slush, graying with dirt and grit from the street. The retired Army captain sighed as he hopped out of his old beat up Jeep. The damn cold made his old bones hurt. The chill felt like it was seeping in as he carefully walked to the front of the porch attached to a bungalow. Sy took his gloved hand and brushed the snow off of the banister. Before he made it to the door, he heard the familiar happy barking of the little dog who lived there. The lock clicked open, there before him stood a woman wrapped in a big sweater and fuzzy socks up to her knees.
“Come in, come in, its so cold.” She said, ushering him inside her home. “Thank you for coming, I have no idea how to fix my stupid heater but the fireplace is working well.”
Sy just grunted a little, and kissed his favorite human on her cheek. She smiled at the cranky man, knowing that once he warmed up his disposition would thaw out a little as well. The woman went back to her laptop on the kitchen table and worked on the novel she had been writing. Sy went to the furnace and started tinkering with the machinery. About forty-five minutes, he came back up the front of the house and witnessed the human burrito swaddled in her fuzzy blanket.
“Baby, I got to go get a couple pieces from the store to finish fixing the furnace. Do you want me to bring you back some coffee or something else to heat you up?”
She said softly. “If you want to being me back anything though, I would love a cold brew.”
“A cold brew? One of those iced coffees?”
“Yeah.”
“You shiver every time you walk out of the range of the fire place, and you want an iced coffee?”
“I’m asserting my dominance over this damn cold front, don’t you judge me, Sy.”
“You are so lucky I love you as much as I do,” he chuckled, “Because, my hand to Jesus, you are the most stubborn woman I have ever met.”
He watched as she stuck her tongue out at him over the top of her computer. She might have also playfully given him the finger.
A quick trip to the local hardware store and a stop by their favorite coffeehouse later, Sy made it back to the house and let himself back in. His beautiful companion was napping on the couch near the fireplace with her tiny dog snuggled by her feet, her laptop was still open. She must have just drifted off. Worried that she might drop the expensive equipment, Sy moved the laptop to the coffee table next to her. He then placed the cold brew in the refrigerator and went back to work. The small dog would wag his tail whenever the grump Captain would look over at them. He eventually hopped down and walked over to the large man.
When the first met, he had told the pup while teasing him that “Dogs under fifty pounds were essentially cats, and cats are worthless.” However, the dog never seemed to hold his prejudice against small animals against him. After a short while of being together, Sy would have no problem with sitting down on the couch with the ten pound pooch sitting in the crook of his arm like they had been best friends for years.
The little dog laid down with tiny crossed paws, and kept a watchful eye on the man doing the repairs on the house’s furnace.  Sy, who was not one for useless words, started telling the little dog what he was doing the same way a dad would explain to a child. He would occasionally reach down and give the small animal a little scratch or some love. The two of them spent the next hour getting the furnace up and running.
After getting it repaired, Sy set the temperature to a wonderful cozy setting and then leaned over the sleeping woman and kissed her forehead to wake her up. He waited until she woke up before he stopped rubbing the back of her hand. She smiled as soon as she saw him.
“Hey, sorry, I didn’t realize how tired I was.”
“It’s okay baby, I fixed the furnace. We will be nice and warm here in no time.”
“How long have I been out?”
“I’ve been back for maybe an hour, so you have a nice little nap. Did you get any writing done while I was gone?”
“Yeah, I got some proof reading done and made some adjustments. My editor is happy with my progress. Once I wake up all the way, I’ll start working on dinner.”
Sy decided that he was going to help her in the kitchen. He had a feeling that between the joking, the kissing and general shenanigans it probably took longer to make their meal than it would have if he lover had just made things by herself. Once they where able to settle down with bowls full of steaming chicken soup with biscuits swimming in broth. They sat down on the couch in the back room with the fire place and watched a silly action movie. As the sun set, Sy didn’t notice that outside of the cozy home, the snow had started coming down in earnest.
“Well, baby, I think it’s time for me to get going.” He said as he put his hoodie back on.
“I’m glad you came over today, I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“You could have with the right tools, I believe in you.” He looked out the window on the front door and sighed deeply. He pulled on a knitted hat that she had made for him.
“Sy, it’s really coming down out there. You have some clothes here, stay here for the night. Its nice and warm in here.”
“I don’t know, you know my roommate will have some opinions about me staying out all night. I told him I would help him in the morning.”
“Its cold outside, I don’t think they will mind.”
Sy smirked for a moment, “But what will your neighbors think?”
“That I saved your life, now you won’t catch pneumonia. I’ll be a hero. They will throw me a parade.”
“Oh yeah? I think they will all be talking tomorrow. I can’t besmirch your honor.” Sy teased.
This made his love laugh so hard she snorted. He felt like he won just a little bit. “Tell them you slept on my couch if it makes you feel more noble. It’s up to your knees, and I know how this makes you hurt. Stay with me, we’ll have some more wine or some cocoa and go to bed. Tomorrow you are free to do whatever you want.”
“What if your mother comes over in the morning, what will we tell her?” Sy said thinking this was it. This would make her crack.
“My mother is wondering when we are planning on giving her grandkids, not if we are ever going to move in together, or get married. She wants to know when you plan on knocking me up. So… there’s that.” She made a face that said she wasn’t joking.
Sy’s eyes almost popped out of his skull and he choked on his own saliva. He couldn’t think of a comeback. He looked off into the distance for a moment like he was doing the mental math. “Well shit, sugar, I can’t think of another reason to leave.”
“What can I say, I can be very convincing.” She said as Sy leaned in to give her deep kiss. “You aren’t any obligations to get me pregnant thought. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Hun, I thought your mama hated me, so I’m just excited she doesn’t. Now, let’s get to making that cocoa. You have the marshmallows I like so much?”
I saw a ghost today while I was out on a coffee break from the Daily Planet. Probably not an actual ghost, although I can’t be sure anymore. Things have been different ever since… well. My own death, I guess. I would have to reach out of my mom tonight and find out what happened to our neighbors.
But I saw her, I feel it in my bones. Summer. Sometimes my world doesn’t feel real, like I’m watching it through someone’s eyes that aren’t my own. Its hard to reconcile your own mortality when you have been mostly invulnerable for your entire life. But there she was, wearing the RayBan style sunglasses she was known for back when I knew her well. Her long dark hair was pulled back, I couldn’t see any glimpses of silver or anything. She looked as beautiful now as she did in my memories, sliding out of the driver’s seat of a black convertible Cadillac. Just like when we were in Smallville.
It felt like several lifetimes ago when we would drive around together after school or during the school breaks. She had driven herself from Los Angeles to come live with her aunt and uncle shortly after she turned sixteen. I was fifteen at the time, but my god, she just seemed like a woman to me. The girls around here had an innocence to them that Summer must have had taken away from her too young. She had spent a week, sleeping in parking lots and eating cheap fast food whenever she could get it to make it our here. Now in my thirties, I still can’t imagine what she went though to get to this tiny farming community. Her family introduced her do us the following weekend after she had settled in.
I remember the outfit she wore like it had been yesterday. She had bright red Chuck’s, black with thin gray pin strips and a Blink 182 shirt. Her right arm had a couple tattoos already, and one on her ankle. She shook my mom and dad’s hands like she was one of us her entire life. I don’t know why I thought she would be soft, but she wasn’t.
After dinner that night, I asked her about the tattoos. She gave me a half smile, and just replied that you can get away with a lot when your parents are too busy getting high to give a damn about what you were up to. Â
I remember when her birthday came up that year, we had gotten her tickets to a concert in Saint Louis. Her eyes watered when she opened the card. She practically tackled me when she wrapped her arms around my neck saying thank you.
We drove through the back country highways, mooing at cows and listening to the play lists she had made for her drive to Smallville. She never made me feel stupid even though I wasn’t as worldly as she was. All these years later, whenever I hear “Rock Show,” I can’t help but think about that day. Watching her bounce around and get lifted up to crowd surf. I fell in love with her that night. This was where she belonged, unlike me. I felt like an outsider but it was just nice to see her this happy.
On the drive home, she had me take a turn behind the wheel. She fell asleep with her head in my lap. I played with her hair and just enjoyed the quiet of the road. We stopped for a little while outside of Wichita Kansas, where we laid on the backseat of her car, using our hoodies as blankets. I remember that she fell asleep with her head on my chest, and I rubbed her shoulders until I dozed off myself. I don’t think her platonic cuddles were meant to inspire the thoughts I had that night, but I found myself in the future dreaming of the smell of her shampoo and thinking of how she felt against me.
She and I stayed friends until the day someone claiming to be her father showed up and wanted to take her back Riverside. She was polite, calm even. However, when she told her uncle and aunt that she was going to drive over to our farm to say goodbye after dinner, she had already packed up her bags and put them in the trunk of the Cadillac. She came by for a moment, and told me her plan. In two days she would turn eighteen so she justified that she would just vanish. She had saved a lot of money working at a diner in town so she would be able to get set up in a new place without too much struggling. My mother heard the conversation and started crying almost immediately.
“Mrs Kent, please don’t. I promise, I’ll be safe. But I can’t go back there. I would rather be by myself than live with them again, I would be essentially be alone with really expensive rent.”
My mom gave her a quilt and a cast iron skillet, hugging her close. Summer thanked her with tears in her eyes. Dad gave her a hug as well. I walked her out to her car, gently placing the blanket and skillet in her passenger seat. I wrapped my arms around her and for the first time she feels small to me. “I love you, Summer. Please don’t leave, you could just disappear for a couple days and come back like nothing happened, we won’t let anything happen to you.”
“I know Clark, I love you too. Just not the way you want me to.” She said gently touching my face. “You have been so good to me, and I will never forget that. Thank you. I can’t stay, my parents will never let us be okay.”
Before she took off, she left me with a stack of CDs that she had burned. Purple, pink and bright green discs with the songs we sang together as we drove around getting into trouble.Â
“Don’t tell them where I’m going, Clark. They can’t know.” She got into the driver’s seat and took off in the wrong direction. A couple of hours later, her father, uncle and aunt came to collect her. We told them that she had been over to say goodbye but we didn’t know where she had gone. Maybe she needed to get road trip snacks?
They searched all around town for her, even venturing into Dodge City, but she had a long enough head start to get away from her father. Three days later, one of our friends found that old Cadillac with a Black Flag sticker on the back at a used car dealership in Topeka. Summer was gone and we had no idea how to find her because she didn’t want to be found. A couple months later, she would call her family in town but the calls started to go away after a while. There was a rumor she was working as a stripper in Kansas City but no one ever had the evidence to back it up. She taught me how to vanish without a trail and I used those lessons well after I had also departed.
Maybe this vision of Summer I thought I saw was just my mind trying to give myself some closure. I had missed her, and while I sometimes thought I could her heart beating in the distance, I knew if she wanted me to find her, she would have found me first. She was just that kind of lady.
The woman I thought might have been Summer returned to her black Cadillac, she was smiling and looked as radiant as ever. We locked eyes through the window, and for a moment, I think my ghost is real. Under the leather jacket she’s wearing peeks out the Blink 182 t-shirt she had gotten at the concert we went to. Even if she’s just a figment of my imagination, I feel like it’s Summer telling me she is okay where ever she is.
How I imagine discussing baby names would go with Henry, because nerd.
"I think I found the best middle name for our boy. No one else I know would have it and I think it's a really strong sounding name." Henry would start.
"Oh yeah? Lay it on me."
"Sigismund."
"God bless you, try that again."
"Sigismund! The man too angry to die."
"You know, I thought you would have gone for something like Elric, Titus, or something from 40K..."
"Ha, you see, it is from 40K. Sigismund was the first Black Templar, and that man stayed alive for a thousand years because of how much he hated Chaos. When he was finally defeated, with his dying breath he told Abadon, Horus' son 'You will die as your weakling father died. Soulless. Honourless. Weeping. Ashamed.' How badass is that?"
"That is pretty badass." The mother of his child would reply, looking up from her phone. "Only we can't use Sigismund. It's Dijkstra's first name."

Reader/Dean
Reader gender: Female
One-shot
Warnings: Alllll the fluff!
“What the hell Dean?!”
You lower the knife you had been ready to thrust into the chest of whatever it was that was sneaking around the bunker in the middle of the night as you lay eyes on the hunter.
“I could have stabbed you!”
Dean scoffs.
You sigh and toss the knife back on the bench.
“What are you doing here? I thought you and Sam were gone for the week. Wasn’t expecting you guys back for at least another two days.”
“And I thought you were asleep, guess we were both wrong,” Dean says in a smug tone.
“Couldn’t sleep,” you mutter.
Whenever the boys left for hunts that you didn’t or couldn’t go on, you found it much harder to sleep and concentrate on other things. You were never sure whether it was because you worried about them, or you worried about being alone by yourself, given the business you’d chosen to involve yourself in. You had reason enough to be as far as you were concerned. You were here because the rest of your family had been killed by demons, and you would have joined them if it hadn’t been for Dean and Sam.
“What about you? Why are you back early? Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Dean says nonchalantly, waving the question away. “Finished earlier than we thought we would is all.”
“And that didn’t require a call because?”
Dean frowns at you.
“Does it matter (Y/N)?” he asks curtly. “We’re back now.”
You can tell right away that he’s intent on avoiding the question, and given the late time and the exhaustion running through your body, you decide to leave it alone.
“Where’s Sam?”
“Fell asleep in the car,” Dean smirks. “Decided it was easier not to wake sleepy beauty.”
“Fair enough. Beer?”
“Hell yes,” Dean mutters, and so you pull two bottles from the fridge and crack them open on the edge of the bench top. “Cheers.”
“So how’d it go, anyway?” you ask, pushing yourself up to sit on the bench, watching the Winchester as he leans against the wall, staring into his bottle.
“Fine,” he says shortly. “Found the wendigo. Killed it.”
“And yet you don’t seem to be in a celebrating mood,” you observe.
“(Y/N), I really don’t wanna talk about it,” Dean grunts.
You sigh. There was only one reason Dean would act this way after a successful hunt.
“Who’d you lose?”
Dean looks up at you, pain in his eyes.
“Kid and his dad. Kid was nine. Excited because it was his first time camping.”
You reach out and run your thumb over the back of his hand.
“I’m sorry,” you say quietly. “But…at least it won’t take anyone else now.”
“Yeah. Fantastic.”
Well now what? You know this Dean. This is the Dean that thinks if he’d just been a little bit faster, caught on a little bit quicker, then they wouldn’t have died. This is the Dean that will blame himself for every little problem that occurs in a hunt. This is the Dean that doesn’t believe that those deaths were an unfortunate sacrifice for the greater good. Yes, it was sad, it was horrible in fact, that this child and his father had died at the hands of a wendigo, but others had died before them, and now no one else would. Still, you don’t really know what to do about it. You hadn’t exactly planned on this evening.
“So, what did you do while we were botching up our hunt anyway?” asks Dean, clearly trying to change the subject. “Didn’t you have a potential hunt or something?”
“Bust,” you grunt. “Just some normal old sicko who enjoyed cutting out hearts. No werewolves here.”
“Too bad. So you’ve just been, what? Hanging around?”
You shrug.
“Pretty much. Keeping an eye out for new hunts but things are surprisingly quiet at the moment. Apparently Crowley’s reigning in his demon crew.”
“You talk to him?”
“Nah. Just a gut feeling.”
“So you’ve done nothing?”
“I think I deserve a break!” you object pointedly, holding up the side of your shirt to remind him of the unfortunate incident with a shape shifter and a shotgun last week.
“You should have called Cas,” Dean says, a hint of worry in his voice.
“I don’t need Castiel. I’m fully capable of healing by myself, thank you very much!”
“Whoa, hey, just offering advice,” Dean says, throwing his hands up defensively. “No need to bite my head off.”
You give a sort of growling grunt as you take a swig from your bottle. Dean steps up to you, leaning against the bench right beside you. You stare up at him, taking in the three-day stubble peppered over his chin, the gentle expression in his eyes, the muscles threatening to burst from his tight fitting tee. Wow, he was pretty.
“You okay?” he asked.
You blink and quickly stare down at your feet, hanging about a foot from the ground.
“Yeah. Fine.”
Oh yeah, you’re the best liar the world’s ever bloody seen, and Dean totally knows it. He starts prodding your arm in that annoying way he always does when he knows you’re not letting on. Well, at least it was better than yelling, which he reserved for when Sam was close lipped.
“Quit it!” you groan, squirming away from him until you reach the edge of the bench and can’t move any further. “Fuck off!”
“Now, now, no need to swear.”
“Dean, piss off!”
“Tell me what’s wrong (Y/N).”
“I’m fine!”
“I’m not gonna stop (Y/N),” he warns.
You grab his hand as he goes to keep poking you, glaring at him.
“Drop it!”
Dean grins at you.
“You missed us, didn’t you?”
“No!”
Oh God yes. You had missed the sound of his voice, the sound of his footsteps plodding through the bunker, the way his face lit up when he smiled. You hated staying back when Dean went hunting, even if Sam and Castiel were around to keep you company still. They were fun and all, but it was Dean that really brightened your day.
“You did! You missed us!”
“Yes, fine! I missed you, okay?”
“Wasn’t so hard, was it?” Dean asks, smirking. “Just wait til I tell Sammy. He’ll probably get all sappy and-“
“I didn’t miss him,” you say suddenly, locking eyes with the hunter.
Dean’s mouth falls open slightly, staring at you for a moment. You swallow. You’ve gone too far. You shouldn’t have opened your stupid mouth. There was no repairing this damage. You open your mouth to apologise when suddenly his lips are pressed to yours, his hands drawing you close to him. You melt into the embrace, kissing him back.
He breaks away from you, resting his forehead against yours, a hand coming up to brush your cheek softly.
“I’ve wanted you since the day I saw you,” he breathes, rubbing his nose against hers.
You reach up to nip at his bottom lip, pulling him back into you, kissing him fiercely. He moans and works his tongue into your mouth, dancing around your tongue and fighting for dominance, which he quickly achieves as he tugs you closer, pressing you right up to him.
“Shall we take this elsewhere?” he asks, parting from you to press warm kisses down your neck. “In case…Sam…wakes up?”
In response, you wrap your legs around his waist and he lifts you off the bench, grasping your arse tightly as he carried you to his room. Kicking the door closed behind him, he tips you onto the bed, leaning over you to return to his assault on your neck. You moan and press your fingers through his hair as he nips at your collar bone.
He tugs your tank top over your head and tosses it aside, growling happily at your lack of a bra given you had expected to be alone. He trails his tongue down your torso, licking right around the bulge of your left breast before resting his lips on your nipple and sucking gently. You groan, pulling him as close to your chest as possible while bucking your hips into his. He chuckles into your skin, sending shivers down your spine.
“Don’t worry (Y/N), I’ll get there.”
You hadn’t realised the hunter could be so gentle as he ran his hands up and down your body. Dean was usually strong, loud, outspoken. You had always been aware that he had a soft, caring side, but you hadn’t expected it to show in bed. His head continued to travel down your midrift, and soon he was placing open mouthed kisses at the edge of your jeans while his fingers slip beneath the waistline and pull the pants down and off your ankles.
Dean hums happily at the sight of your lace panties, glancing up at you with a grin on his face. Before you can ask what he’s doing, he licks from the base of your slit right up to the waistline of your panties. As his tongue passes over your clit, you shudder and moan, gripping at his hair again. He takes hold of the waistband of your underwear and pulls them down far enough to reveal your wet sex.
He places a flat tongue over your sex and licks up again, pulling a loud moan from your chest. His lips seal around your clit and he starts to suck and nibble at your nerve centre, making you writhe over the sheets.
“Oh fuck! Dean! Fuck!”
The knot in your stomach is quickly tightening, but before you can release, Dean pulls away abruptly.
“Dean!” you whine. “Please! I was so close! Come on Dean!”
He grins at you and kisses you softly before he breaks away to wrestle his pants and boxers off.
“Ready for me (Y/N)?”
You glance down at him and moan at the sight of his throbbing cock. He strokes himself a few times before lining himself up at your entrance. With a deep groan he presses into you, his length and girth stretching you right to your limit. He seats himself inside you, giving you time to adjust, kissing a trail down your neck. After a moment, he starts to thrust into you, setting a quick tempo and almost immediately finding that secret spot inside you.
Moans and whimpers rip from your throat as you buck your hips to meet his thrusts, the heat inside you building to boiling point.
“Ah fuck! Dean, I’m so close! So fucking close!”
“Cum for me (Y/N). Cum for me baby.”
You scream as your orgasm hits you, repeating his name over and over. As your walls clench around him, his thrusts strengthen, becoming erratic, until he slams into you a final time, spilling his seed inside you, panting hard. He rests on your chest, listening to your racing heartbeat. Eventually he pulls out of you, triggering groans from both of you, before rolling onto his back, staring at the ceiling, chest rising and falling heavily.
“Fuckin’ hell,” he breathes. “That was…fuck.”
He props himself up an on elbow, turning to grin at you.
“You’re gorgeous baby girl.”
You smile at him and peck his cheek lightly.
“You’re not too shabby yourself.”
Dean chuckles and hits your shoulder gently.
“Shut up. I’m spectacular.”
There’s silence for a few moments as he surveys you happily.
“I meant it you know,” he says. “I want you.”
“Well, Dean, I don’t know if you were present or not, but I’m pretty sure you just got me,” you point out.
“Yeah, alright, smart arse,” Dean smirks. “Wanna quit taking back for two seconds and actually act like an adult?”
You smirk at the idea that Dean could act like an adult, but shrug and nod.
“Look, I don’t do this very often but…go out with me?” he asks, biting his lip.
He looks so nervous you almost pity him.
“Yeah Dean. Of course I’ll go out with you,” you say, smiling.
Dean grinned and rolled on top of you again, kissing you passionately.
Prompt:Â Blaine gets lost in the color of Kurt's eyes.
Summary:Â Beginning of the relationship Klaine. Like...maybe a couple of weeks in. Studying together on Kurt's bed and Blaine asks a question.
Words:Â 900
A/N: Another one! And then I may or may not take a break because I have a proper fic back from beta to consider. But, yeah, this is fluffy. FLUFFY. And G rated. God, I haven't done that in an age. Thanks for another awesome prompt anonmouse.Â
“You know how your eyes change colour with the light?”
Well that’s a very random question to throw out there after half an hour of actual, proper studying. Kurt looks up but Blaine’s looking back down at his textbook. “Excuse me?”
“Your eyes. They change colour.”
Kurt just stares at him and Blaine just stares at the book in front of him and Kurt’s starting to suspect he’s blushing. Actually, he’s sure, because the pink has reached the tops of his ears and Kurt can see it, even as Blaine tries to hide it. Watching Blaine blush makes Kurt’s heart beat a little faster. But he just says “Okay,” and continues to stare at the top of Blaine’s head.
Blaine flicks a page over and continues to pretend to be reading again.
Kurt’s pretty sure that the last person to say anything like that about his eyes was his mother and if could make him sad, maybe, if he dwelled on it, but instead his heart just beats a little faster again. Because Blaine said it. Â
“Was there a question about them?” he asks gently, coaxing Blaine’s gaze up with his voice.
Blaine’s cheeks are still tinged pink and he’s trying to look like there’s nothing amiss and grin dopily and shrug through it all.
They’re still so new at this, but Kurt doesn’t think many boyfriends would make such strange remarks about eye colour while they were sitting at opposite ends of the bed, one studying French, the other cramming for Physics. He’s sure they wouldn’t do it in the breathless voice Blaine used and then look away and blush.
Blaine’s staring at him now and Kurt can’t help but notice how stunning the colour in his eyes is with the afternoon sun hitting them through the open window.
“Blaine, what?” Kurt pushes.
“I—“ Blaine falters and blushes again and looks down and Kurt feels his breath catch somewhere in his throat to have his view of hazel eyes interrupted by the spread of dark lashes across his pink skin. He looks back up and there’s a moment’s question in Blaine’s expression because Kurt must look ridiculously dumbstruck.
But at least it makes Blaine speak. “I’m bad at romance, Kurt, this is just going to sound weird.”
Kurt doesn’t even care. He’s so utterly in love he doesn’t care and for a moment he’s happy to slip back to that place where he thought Blaine was perfect, happy to bask there for a few minutes and think there’s nothing Blaine could possibly say that he won’t love. And his expression must say it because Blaine’s breathing in and saying, “I wanted to ask if I could watch them…change colour, I mean.”
Kurt’s lips quirk up and his eyes widen and he swallows a giggle because Blaine’s already waving his hand and shaking his head and saying, “It’s stupid.”
Moving his book to the floor, Kurt crawls the length of the bed and with a guiding hand, pushes Blaine’s out-stretched legs to the side so he can get closer. Then he relaxes back onto his knees, keeping his head tilted forward and his eyes already searching out Blaine’s.
Blaine who is blinking a little too fast and breathing shallowly and looking off to the side every now and then. “Not stupid?” he asks.
“I don’t think so. So long as I can look at yours.” And Kurt already is, staring at the contours of brown to almost yellow and letting silly, romantic words slide around his head.
Blaine laughs and it’s real and Kurt knows he’s relaxing and wishes he didn’t freak out like this so often but kind of doesn’t because he loves that this is all so new and strange and uncharted for both of them. “I don’t think I can watch your eyes change colour without you having to stare at mine.”
They settle for a time, just staring and then blinking and it’s tempting to look somewhere else when you’re sitting so close and allowed to look but it’s impossible to break the connection. Because the glimpses Blaine has caught of Kurt’s eyes, the colours he’s tried to imagine by staring at photographs of them, they don’t do this justice. And Kurt thinks he can taste something sweet on his tongue just from staring so hard at Blaine, watching something glimmer and his pupils, just maybe, widen a little. Â
“They’re stunning,” Kurt whispers out.
And that makes Blaine glance away and down but Kurt’s hand is sliding across his cheek, angling him back up and he says, “No, come on,” and feels a little bit silly but Blaine’s watching him, and that’s all that matters. “Look at me,” he tells him. And then he smiles and feels bold and Blaine sees it in his eyes if not across his lips. “Just keep looking until you can’t not kiss me.”
