Ah, Legolas, very clearly my “actually the favorite” character. 😆 I also realized while doing this one that I *also* have no idea what “fish want me, women fear me” actually means in tumblr culture, so the possibilities for bingo were reduced further than ever.

I’ll never admit Legolas is a himbo either, so the bingo remains elusive... My Legolas headcanons and fanfiction are so deep (and…old) at this point that I could probably write paragraphs about each of the things I circled. *sweats*

sword 🗡️ - is there anything you always carry with you?

hmm like wallet and phone and stuff like that, but no like particular object I think. But I love wearing layers and heavy jackets for many reasons but also bc I find the weight comfortable haha so no matter how hot and sunny it is outside I'll usually bring (and wear) a jacket of some sorts (as @languages-and-else can confirm:) )

lavender 💜 - what’s your favorite smell?

maybe the sort of smokey smell you can get on cold winter's days, or the smell of roasting coffee beans (there's a coffee brand which roasts their beans in a sort of fabric very close to where I live and grew up so the smell would fill the entire neighborhood). and the sea, of course the sea - so I guess to wrap it up just the smell of Home haha

birch 🌳 - what’s something you’re proud of?

@fluentisonus no you're absolutely right, and the existence of the "asian studies" department alongside the "two areas of the Mediterranean basin over like a 1000 year period" department is. mad. when i said "if i were going to design classics from the ground up i wouldn't do it like this" i really meant really that i wouldn't do classics - i know some unis are shifting to "ancient mediterranean studies" instead which imo is a really positive move. but on the other hand i think there's an argument for working with what you've got too, iykwim.

@fluentisonus i don't really know how far that's still true, or indeed how far that's actually different from all other subjects. i think, again, a large part of the issue here is classicsts' perception of the uniqueness of the subject. i'd also be curious to know what you consider an example of its systematic separateness that still persists? the university as a whole was (& still is) designed to silo subjects off from one another - how far is classics pecularily separate in that regard?
