Being a typical born and raised Jersey Girl, one thing i will never get used to now living in Florida is the intense and scorching heat that seems ti linger all year long, with the exception of 1 to 2 months of a “chilling” period. I’ve been back and forth from Jersey to Florida since 2006, and returned for good in 2018. It seems to me that with each passing year, and each summer, each summer gets worse and worse when it comes to the high heat and humidity. 

Last year, my fiance and I decided to build our first home in a small town in Lake County. The area we decided to move to has its pros and cons. One con is that my town is still considered a “country” town and there is a huge chicken farm somewhere near by ( A year here and i still have no idea where it’s located) and because Florida is constantly humid, you can often smell the chickens waste 🤢🤢. However, one thing that is truly spectacular about Florida Summers in my town is that our home sits under complete open skies and the summer storms bring A LOT of intense storms and weather. 

Anyone who genuinely knows me, knows I am ABSOLUTELY obsessed with intense weather. Thunderstorms, Lightning storms, hurricanes (though i have yet to be through my first official hurricane), I am THRILLED over tornadoes. And so, naturally, what has been my guilty pleasure and has become quite the new and exciting hobby of mine, has been taking pictures, videos, and time lapses of storms, lightning shows, etc. I don’t take pictures to promote them in any other way other than my sheer passion for my love of weather.
