“Il Rifrullo del Diavolo”: In Florence you can feel the fury of the cheated Devil
These are really hot days in Florence, with hellish temperatures. You can search some refreshment in air conditioned bar, in a park or walking around the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. There, indeed, blow a wind called by Florentine “Il Rifrullo del Diavolo”. The legend tells that the Devil was chasing a priest, through the city, to take his soul. When they arrived in Piazza Duomo, the dying wish of clergyman was to pray for the last time. He went inside the Cathedral while Satan was waiting him outside. The clever priest exploited this occasion to escape from a secondary door. The Devil began to puff for the boredom and, when he learned the trick, the puff became a vortex. Thenceforth, when someone pass through the Cathedral, can still feel the fury of the cheated Devil.
