RIGHT?? i was totally jamming it at work today, my favorites are ‘some kind of love’ and ‘rut’!! i think the only tracks i wasn’t fond of were the singles, particularly ‘the man’?? other than that it’s such a delight to listen to these guys again!

out of all the boys, i feel like louis has the best grasp on all their personalities and experiences. if you look at the times during the band when he was given a chance to speak a length, you realise he was always secretly contemplative and Aware. i don't know if its due to his feeling like an outsider sometimes, that he was this incredible and unlikely Observer of their experience, but i always find Louis' insights the most interesting and neutral

YES! he’s got such a unique, insightful perspective, and i think he’s been the most open and vulnerable in interviews as well. he seems like he wants that to be the case, though - like, it’s not so much that the interviewer is teasing this stuff out of him as he feels like it’s important for you to understand, as a listener of his music, which is so interesting to me!! i’d love for him to go over it all again, consulting the other guys to cross-check his memory as well - it’d honestly be...a really intriguing premise for a fic lol

TRUE GOOD POINT TRUE you don't tend to go AU, I should have thought of that. that's SO interesting to me, that you like to sit in a sort of canon (or canon adjacent). It must be why you're so good at digging into the meat of who they are and what they do so effectively.

aW, PLS, THANK YOU! i just think the act of placing them in another context necessarily rearranges some of their dna, if u know what i mean? like, nature vs. nurture, it makes them different! so i like to shove everything under a microscope, lol. but i think you get at them just as effectively through alternate settings!!

for a second I thought you were talking about nialls enneagram type and I got super excited because I am very prepared for that conversation.

Oh gosh. Uh. Food experiences: the best coffee I have ever had was on July 3rd of 2016 (a Sumatra grown in the Ketiara Co-op and roasted by Barrington and served at Amherst Coffee), the most comforting cup of coffee I have ever had was a travel mug full of Maxwell House that I was swigging while driving to Ithaca for the first time ever in March of 2016, and I really need to make clam chowder again because I glimpsed the face of God when I last made some this past winter. 

Read kids Shel Silverstein. Maybe some of Wallace Stevens’s sillier poems. Perhaps even The Rime of the Ancient Mariner or some of Blake’s stuff.
