'Dras'Tic Design
As you may have noticed, lately there has been many foldable phone designs, like the Samsung foldable phone, telling us which way the smartphone market is going. The Drasphone attempts to mix together two huge trends together in one simple mobile phone design. The clamshell trend from the 90s and the touchscreen display trend. Mastering the art of flexible display screen technology, this concept design goes as far as not bending the smartphone once, not twice, but at 3 separate points! This lets the user to choose whether they want an ultra compact phone or just half. You can do a half fold and then it turns into a MiniDras, or if you completely fold the phone it becomes a MicroDras. If you couldn't tell, a tiny section of the display is exposed when it is in MicroDras mode. This handy feature lets you have all of your notifications and other important data right there visually for you whenever your phones in sleep mode. Personally, I do believe largely that bending a phone could cause more wear and tear on your device, but at the same time the idea is so cool and futuristic that I would really enjoy playing with a working prototype! Other phone companies such as Huwei, ZTE, and LG need to start catching up on the new technology that is bringing us foldability with the screen. Designer:Â R&D CORE Limited
