It’s happened a few times already to my Nib Creapers and it’s been driving me nuts! I’m almost at the point of just keeping them empty when I’m not using them. Would putting silicone grease on the outside threads help?

Because Fountain Pen Enthusiasts Really Are Very Enthusiastic!

You may have heard I am a fountain pen enthusiast, so I will now talk in ridiculous detail about my little collection.

Starting from the top left corner and continuing clockwise:

1. Noodler’s Ahab. I started my fountain pen journey with dip pens, and loved the idea of calligraphy, but hated actually dipping. It was a messy and slow affair, with constant interruptions to accommodate ink flow…

In my opinion, Noodler’s flex pens really aren’t that difficult to deal with; it’s just a matter of accepting that some inks will probably have a different optimal setup than others in the Noodler’s pen and adjusting as needed. It’s really not super-intimidating, unless the prospect of having inky fingertips horrifies you. If it helps, Brian Goulet has commented in his videos that the more you pull out the feed, the wetter the ink flow will be. Specifically, I’ve found that if you experience railroading a lot with a specific ink in the pen, it’s worth pulling out the feed a tiny bit more with your fingernail and seeing if that adjustment helps.
