Bone breaking meets The Cell.
Red alert! The remaining 3 performances of FLEXN are starting to sell-out! If you haven’t secured your tickets to see Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray and 21 incredible flex dancers bone-break, get-low, and glide across the 160-foot long runway stage, now is the time! Created in the era of unrest following rulings on Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner in New York City, FLEXN is a powerful new work staged by visionary director Peter Sellars and flex pioneer Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray in collaboration with a crew of flex dancers from the very neighborhoods in Brooklyn where the movement first took shape. Performing both as individuals and in groups to choreography created by the ensemble itself, the dancers tell deeply human and sometimes heart-wrenching stories that address troubling issues of our time. FLEXN runs through this Saturday, April 4! Photos: Stephanie Berger
"This is not your regular ballet. This is not contemporary, modern dance. This is street dance." Listen to FLEXN co-director and flex pioneer Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray give the flex foundation and advice to audiences on what to expect. FLEXN opens tonight and runs through April 4!
