Office of Naval Intelligence Section III Data Release

United Nations Space Command operational command is separated into several sectors based on galactic coordinates.

These sectors are known by the moniker: CENTCOM, otherwise known as Central Command.

CENTCOMs are theater-level unified combatant command centers with joint-task forces of UNSC Naval Command and UNSC Unified Ground Command assets deployed to them.

CENTCOM Region One is headquartered on Reach, hosting the Reach Logistics Office.

Further CENTCOM headquarters are still in disarray as of conclusion of Human-Covenant War.

Hood blinked out of his reverie. He’d been drifting a lot more lately. Even if it was just for a second or two. Ever since the Infinity had picked up the trail of the Spirit of Fire, and then gotten led into a trap.

Unacceptable.

“Yes, Master Chief, my apologies. I asked you here to inquire as to your status. Spartan-104 has made it a point in his recent reports to note that you seem out of character; I’m inclined to believe him.”

The Fleet Admiral turned away from the viewport staring out over Europe and the Atlantic to face John, hands still clasped behind his back. “How are you, son?”

Hood raised an eyebrow. He knew very few sailors who used the term ‘Fine Navy Day’ unironically. So, the question... it didn’t confuse him, more like made him curious.

As far as he knew, there was nothing wrong. But he wouldn’t have been surprised if there was a simple communication issue somewhere.

“Captain Terrence Hood, why did you fail to recover the Spirit of Fire’s log beacon?”

“I...”

That wouldn’t work for so many reasons.

1: MACs need a ridiculous amount of power to work, hence the nuclear reactors.

2: The force of one shot may very well irreparably damage the “ship’s” superstructure.

3: Little engine room. These vessels would be slow and un-maneuverable, leaving them vulnerable to retaliatory fire. They also wouldn’t be able to track targets at an effective speed
