ever since heâd set foot inside the camp borders, joshua had never really left again. the few times he had, he could count on one hand. there wasnât anything outside of the borders for him. the only thing remaining of his old life was his little sister, and heâd only just started to get to know her again. she was the only reason why he had decided to make a quick last minute trip to the nearest town just now. he hadnât meant to come back after dark, but yet here he was. picking out birthday presents had never been his strong suit, especially not for a soon to be thirteen year old girl he hadnât really seen in years
of course he bumped into someone right when he returned to camp. maybe a camper on border patrol, maybe someone else who had snuck out past curfew. pulling the hood of his hoodie back, he greeted them with a nod. âi wonât tell if you wonât.â
Alexander hated losing things, and after spending a good half hour retracing his steps, that is the conclusion he unfortunately had to draw. He'd lost his violin. He still had his bow, but it was rather hard to play violin without, you know, the actual instrument. So, here he was, bow in his hand, having combed through the entirety of cabin 7 but still not having located his instrument. He stepped outside, checking the porch area and let out an exasperated scream. "Where in the name of the Gods is it?!"Â
âi sneezed and it started raining in cabin one. so, uh, yeah. training my mediocre budding powers is going swell, thanks for asking.â hadley couldnât help but laugh at his own misfortune. honestly, it was pretty on-brand for the summer so far.  âmaybe i should just stick to the lightning. yâknow, whenever it decides to work.â
camp had always been relatively fun for eve, even now without her sister, she still enjoyed coming to camp halfblood. something about the environment was always calming. she waited by the sidelines of the fight, her hands black with charcoal as she worked on a piece for her portfolio. genevieve rarely paid attention to people while they trained. she was only here studying the postures of the human form and trying to freeze the moment in her mind so she could draw it perfectly. but of course they kept going. the younger campers, didnât really know what they were doing, still learning. eve didnât care about it. her fingers held the piece of charcoal making bold strokes on the paper. drawing was the worst. she looked down at the paper to see her progress and in the two seconds she looked away, she heard the distinct crack of bones breaking. âouch. that sounded like it hurt,â she commented, looking up.Â

thereâs a disturbance in her chest, a rock situated heavily on her ribs, lungs webbed in barbed wire. itâs a feeling settled deep into her bones, pulling at her strings, and  POISONING her mind. strange, to say the least, uncomfortable, to be vague, but altogether unsettling and dysphoric. sheâs settled in the shadows of an old willow tree, fingers flicking her beaten up lighter on and off, eyes staring at the ground. with knees pulled up to her chest, sheâs brought to reality when they slide down to sit beside her.  â do you ever think that maybe iâm out here by myself because i want to be alone?  â
benny stared at his palm, flexing his hand as he examined the scar that now ran from the center of his hand up along his forearm and stopped at his elbow. it was still fairly fresh- a byproduct of the three weeks long mission he had been on for apollo. â huh. thought it would look more badass. â he muttered, finally dropping his focus from the scar onto the person who had walked up to him. â sorry, i zoned out. whatâs up? â
âDonât you just love being back at camp?â Angela said, excited. They were far enough from the music to be able to hear each other without having to shout, but still being able to listen to the party that was going on a few steps from where they were standing. âI mean, I guess that if you are in camp during the whole year it isnât a big deal, but It should be fun having all the campers back, plus the fun activities and...the parties.âÂ
The alcohol she had been drinking since the bonfire party started had finally reached her brain, and she had to put her hand on the other personâs shoulder to not fall. âSorry, do you want some? Itâs really soft, iâm just really lightweight with this kind of things, you know.âÂ
