harry weaved in and out of the crowd, speaking to both those he recognized and those he did not. he had always found these events tiresome but necessary; rarely had he found them as dangerous as this one. ( he needed to find the man of the hour, he needed to find lex luthor. ) he stopped near a young man that he did not recognize, giving him a quick glance. “which part of the event are you here for?”

❝     You’re asking me, the guy who used to run around with my collar popped so high it could’ve taken out a commercial flight, whether that’s too much     ?     ❞     Dick flattens a hand over his heart with a laugh.     ❝     I’m flattered my opinion even matters at this point.     ❞

“Well...it certainly is...large,” Kaldur drawled from his spot on the shoreline next to Wally as they watched the chaotic flailing of the armored robo-squid. “I know this may make things more difficult for you, but perhaps we should try leaving it in the water for now. Maybe after we got everyone else out,” not that there really was anything else left in the water at this point except the one speedboat desperately zipping away from the scene, “we can try and see how many wattages this things can take from you before trying to get close.” That and they needed a few more minutes to make sure all the rescued civillians properly got out of the area.

“No no, take your time,” Kon grunted under the weight of the steel and concrete currently held over his head. “It’s not like this building weights a bajillion tons or anything.”

To be fair, there were still a lot of people trapped inside when the explosion knocked out the support columns on the main floor of the imminently collapsing building, but Kon was only so strong. He was allowed to complain. And it wasn’t like the Flash here hasn’t listened to him gripe before over the course of their previous team-ups.
