March AU Madness 03
This isn’t so much of an AU as it is a prompt, but whatever, I love board games, fight me.

“Bucky. Bucky. Bucky!” The back of Tony’s hand connects with Bucky’s shoulder as he shouts the soldier’s name for the third time.
“What.” Bucky still doesn’t look up from his phone and Tony groans in frustration, throwing up his hands and storming off to get more coffee.
“It’s your turn.” Bruce fills in.
“You guys are still playing monopoly? I thought Stark won, like, an hour ago.” Sam walks past the dining room table on his way to the kitchen. His question is answered with a collection of grumbles and he keeps walking to rummage in the pantry.
“Can’t we just give the win to Tony?” Steve says, “I mean, he owns half the board anyway.”
“Why I never!” Tony’s returned, the hand not holding his coffee mug is clutching at the reactor. “Captain America, a quitter? Not in my house he’s not.”
“Natasha was smart to throw the game…” Bruce mutters, wincing when he catches Tony’s attention.
“She what now? It’s not a real win if I didn’t earn it!”
Sam follows Tony from the kitchen, bag of Cheetos in hand instead of coffee, and sits in the seat that had been his when they had started the game. “I’m surprised something this stressful hasn’t brought out Big and Green.” He gives Bruce a playful nudge.
“I’m not exactly very competitive about this.”
“Not competitive my ass!” Clint shouts from across the table. “If you had traded me Atlantic Avenue, we wouldn’t be in this mess!”
Bruce shrugs, but his sly smile gives away his true feelings about the game. “You didn’t have anything I wanted.”
“Come on, Buck,” Tony tries to hand Bucky the dice, “Monopoly was a thing back in your day, I thought you and Steve would like this pick for game night.”
“Yeah, it was a thing back in our day.” Without looking away from his StarkPhone, Bucky takes the dice in a single hand, dropping them in a half-assed roll over the board. “And it was fun until you showed me what Mario Kart was. Now it’s boring.”
“You landed on Park Place, Buck.” Steve sounds jealous as he moves the tiny cannon piece.
Suddenly, the phone is down and Bucky is up. “Yes! I don’t have money for that hotel shit. Here ya go, Tony.” He slides his remaining properties to Tony and makes a break for the elevator, throwing up a peace sign with his metal hand. “See ya losers!”
“You’re the loser!” Tony shouts back, but the elevator doors close. “Because he… lost.” He looks back at the rest of the table, the remaining Avengers in various states of exasperated. Except Sam, the only one still here by choice, looking unfairly amused. “Do you guys really want to quit that bad?”
“Yes.” Steve, Clint, and Bruce chorus.
“Fine.” Tony waves a hand and Clint’s off into the vents before anyone else can even get up. Soon after, Tony can hear Bruce making tea in the kitchen. The dejected billionaire slumps forward, resting his cheek on his crossed arms over the board.
Steve stands and gives Tony an awkward pat on the shoulder. “If it makes you feel better, you get choose next week’s game. Since, you know, you won.”
“It’s not a real win.” Tony grumbles and Sam laughs.
“Oh man, if they can’t handle Monopoly, how are we ever going to get them into Catan?”
