Did anyone else start using "flark" and "scut" a lot since playing the Eidos Montreal Guardians of the Galaxy video game? I was saying them religiously for a while after I played it for the first time, the words just slipping seamlessly into my vocabulary. Then after a while I said them less.
And now I'm maining Rocket in Marvel Rivals and suddenly I'm saying them again, "flark" particularly. I'm especially doing this at work where I'm trying not to curse around customers. Even saying things like "son of a shmag."
I was saying "krutacking" for a while after watching the animated series too, but that one didn't stick around for as long.
Gotg has changed my life in so many ways, but adding alien curses to my vocabulary wasn't an expected one.

shark falls first but cant admit it to himself
flint flirts with everyone, including shark
that's just how flint is
but shark starts liking the attention
its very much a slow burn of shark falling for flint
shark is also so conflicted about it because he's so jealous of flint
doesn't know if he wants to be him or be with him type situation
flint is good at reading people and he can tell shark is slowly warming up to him
so he starts flirting more, seeing that shark isn't getting as angry about the flirting
shark has an issue of like he likes when flint flirts with him and hates It at the same time
shark is insecure in his masculinity where flint is not
they're like polar opposites in that way
flint will invite shark to do things with him
once flint was trying on dresses for the bit and dared shark to try one on
shark doesn't turn down a dare
but he also doesn't want to be seen in a dress
but he also wants to connect with flint so he doesn't want to turn him down
anyway shark and flint end up strutting down the castle in dresses
or at the clurb on Saturday /ij
which, when putting their dresses on
flint
noticed something
shark,,, blushing?
all flint did was touch his shoulder,,, ohhhh
yea flint finds out shark has a weakness
which he takes full advantage of
much to sharks dismay
flint will just be talking with shark about a mission or something and just puts his hand on sharks shoulder, nothing big
shark doesn't react externally, maybe just an eyebrow raise
but internally? bro is combusting
he's touch starved what can I say
he still wont admit anything to flint though
hell he can barley admit it to himself
flint comes to shark and "SHARK, IM GLAD WE HAVE FOUND A FRIEND IN EACHOTHER"
a friend
shark doesn't understand why that word hurt when flint said it
vile only makes shark feel worse
shark and vile bicker like brothers and so like brothers, shark gets embarrassed about his little crush
which
um
flint and vile are the biggest gossips in the castle so
flint notices shark liking him more (at least not dogging on him as much lmao) and tells vile
vile absolutely makes fun of shark for it later
"OOO Does The Tough Shark Have Feeeelings For Flint Hmmmm?"
"Shutyourbitchmouthrightnow"
"Ohh So I Touched A Nerve"
shark only closes up more after that and starts being an ass to flint again
which
flint thought they were building a bond and then shark suddenly shuts him out?
yea flint is really confused and hurt by it
they broke up and they were never even together bruv
[ID: 9 digital drawings featuring several dog and cat ocs. The first features a line-up of four characters, all fire-based. The biggest three are all dogs, all a variation of poodles and having similar, warm color pallets, while a small blue kitten perches on one of them. On the far right is Feruki, a bipedal gal with flame patterns on her fur and tall, metallic boots, alongside a rib pattern on her chest. In the middle is Chark, the tallest sibling, with fur covering their eyes and a tshirt featuring a roman 3 symbol. They also have a collar and sneakers with sharp teeth on them, and a lock hanging from the collar. The dog sibling to the far left is Flark, a quadrupedal poodle with long, poofy hair and equally poofy tail, alongside metallic bracelets and a spotted pattern all over. On his back is Aura, a small white and black kitten with a blue tail flame. The 2nd drawing features a bipedal chihuahua with large blank eyes, a red eyeball for a nose, and several eyeballs imbedded into his purple tie. This drawing mimics a similar one from 2015, pasted onto the right side of the image. The next five images are taken from the first lineup of the fire siblings, the first of which feature them with fire forms. Each has a different percentage of their body ablaze, with Feruki being entirely engulfed in flames, Chark having half of their body on fire, Flark only having his eyes, ears and tails as flames, and Aura’s head being all blue fire. The other four images show each sibling separately, all in their normal forms. The final two images are of a cat and fish based character, the one on the left showing them as a floating robot skeleton resembling fish bones, and the one on the right depicting his armored form pre-breakage, where he’s shown to resemble a catfish and silverfish (the insect). Both forms have some version of a battle ax, and the skeleton form also has a large, poofy jacket with a missing right sleeve. End ID]

Me: “What’s a good noise for an alien swear word? Flark! Yes, I like it.”
Me: “I should google that to make sure it’s not something else.”
Google:
Me: “I’m good! Hey, maybe there should be flarks on the alien world...”
Me: *off to plan*

i love when rocket says ‘flark’ in a comic and it’s just so obviously the writers way of getting him to say fuck without having to censor it
Can you give me a list of swear words from various GOTG media? I only know d’ast and krutack.
D’ast: Kree equivalent of “Damn”, Peter Quill used it a lot when DnA were writing him and you can hear Rocket say it in the GotG movie. Ways you can use the word “Awww D’ast” “That d’ast idiot”.
Flark: This was introduced by PAD in his Future Imperfect arc from his Hulk series and he later had it in his Captain Marvel series. DnA took it and used it in their GotG run. It works kind of like how the word Fuck does. It’s also as versatile meaning you can use Flark as a verb, a noun, an adjective, an interjection, or an adverb. Both Rich and Sam have used Flark in their vocab despite being Terrans (all that time they’ve been into space I guess).
Krutarck: Introduced by Bendis, works pretty much like Flark although it doesn’t flow as good as Flark (Like Krutarcked, Krutarcking, Krutarcker, sound awful). Sometimes Bendis spells it as Krutark.
Flarknard: Introduced by Bendis. This one confuses me because Bendis uses it as a noun but at the same time in an issue of Guardians-Team Up he has a sentence that goes like this “If they have a gloforg scanner on board we are totally and completely flarknard” So I guess it also means “Fucked”? Why not just use Flark then? I have no idea what gloforg is because Bendis would make up new slang and then ditch it (he stuck by Krutarck tho). I think Abnett uses it as a noun in Secret Wars: Korvac Saga so I would treat it that way.
Grozit: Introduced by PAD in his Captain Marvel run and often said by Genis. PAD also had a character called Catalina from the Nick show Space Cases say this expletive.
Both Catalina and Genis are from Saturn’s moon Titan which makes me think this swear word is native to that place (meaning Thanos would know it and possibly use it as well since he’s from Titan). All in all it’s the Titan equivalent of Damn.
Shlag: Phalanx controlled Richard Rider refers to Ko-Rel as “Kree Shlag” to which she responds “That’s Stellar Captain Kree Shlag to you!” Drax has used the expression “Son of a Shlag” It’s pretty self explanatory what that word means. It also seems like it’s a Kree word.
Son of a Sch'mag: This expression was used by Kl'lrtt he Super Skrull in his Annihilation mini. Again it’s pretty self explanatory what Sch'mag is. It also seems to be the Skrull version of Shlag.
Dink: An insult and it seems like it’s the equivalent of calling someone a newbie or an amateur. Pyo, a Nova Rigellian, refers to Rich as a dink in Annihilation Prologue.
In Guardians 3000 Abnett gave the original future Guardians their own slang and some of their own curse word variants to space curse words.
Maxiflark: When a situation goes FUBAR levels of bad they use this word. e.g. “This is a total Maxiflark” “Oh Maxiflark! How did this happen?” Despite having Flark in it it’s not exactly like Flark because the future Guardians still use Flark and I don’t think I’ve ever hear them call someone a “Maxiflarker”
Dinkwaft: Future variant of Dink. Guardians 3000 Major Victory refers to the present Guardians as a “bunch of dinkwafts”
Garked: “It got garked!” “We garked ‘em just in time.” I’m guessing it’s Fucked or Screwed.
There were other slangwords like “Exfil” “Numbkiss” and Beamer-bait” (which from what I recall is an insult that suggests that a person is prone to attracting homing beacons which lol I guess it’s offensive in the future in space?) but Guardians 3000 is full of those and I can’t recall them all.The characters also use other type of slang but I didn’t include it in here because they aren’t curse words. That is all of the ones I can remember.
Alien swear words
“I’ve used ‘flark’ before, but I never googled it. I probably should. Hope it’s nothing bad.”
Google answer #1: Wikipedia, obscure term for a hole in the ground. Good, yes, fine.
Google answer #2: Urban Dictionary, “To fart in your hand and put it on someone’s face.”
“YES PERFECT THAT IS HOW ALIENS SWEAR NOW.”
