Based on a true story from Cynthia Brian’s menagerie of adopted animals, Flap Forward! Fly Free!, is the fourth book in the delightful children’s picture book series, Stella Bella’s Barnyard Adventures. While Stella Bella is watering her garden, surrounded by her critter community, she hears the honks of Father Gander as he flails in the sky. A distraught Mother Goose, the goslings, and the barnyard buddies leap into action to help the frightened Father Gander. Through collaboration, cooperation, and courage, fear is faced with love and friendship.

With colorful watercolor illustrations by Marta Maszkiewicz that bring the prose to life, Cynthia Brian’s Flap Forward! Fly Free!! is based on true-life quests and adventures with various species of animals as they discover how to live together in harmony in a diverse barnyard. The animal kingdom is filled with timely and timeless tales relatable to humans. The animal family of Stella Bella’s Barnyard Adventures experiences complex encounters that challenge their integrity, individuality, and character while amplifying an assortment of expressions and original viewpoints to co-exist as a group.
