Beer batter fish is a classic dish with a crispy exterior and tender, flaky interior. The beer in the batter adds a subtle flavor and helps create a light and airy texture. It's perfect for a quick and satisfying seafood meal.
Ingredients: 4 fillets of white fish such as cod or haddock. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1 cup beer lager or ale. Oil for frying such as vegetable or canola oil.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Slowly pour in beer while stirring until a smooth batter forms. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 375F 190C. Dip each fish fillet into the batter, coating completely. Carefully place the battered fillets into the hot oil. Fry for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning once. Remove the fish from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and sides.
