Fitz stood at the bottom of the steps leading up to the campus art center and gave his arms a little shake to try to clear all the emotions that had centered in the pit of his stomach. He couldn’t shake the feel that this was a terrible idea that would only lead to trouble, but he knew he was going up there. After all, he’d put on his nice trainers and a button down for this.

Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself and climbed the steps. The entire time he scanned the crowd around him in the hope of catching sight of Jemma. She’d told him she’d be waiting near the door but he didn’t see her…

“Fitz! Over here!”

His eyes jerked in the direction of the voice and he froze in his tracks.

Hi Anon!

I’ve been in the camp where I’m not too worried about Fitzsimmons content next season.  They’ve proven that even when they are apart we can get some good moments as the miss/search for one another.  I’m also very focused on the endgame now.  I’m willing to deal with them being apart and fighting to get back to each other for their happily ever after in the end.  I also know that a ship that is all good and happy all season usually has a whole lot of not good coming at them at the end (I think this will be Mackelena).  

My other thing is I’m very much excited to hopefully get some good Deke/Jemma content and more of them working together and Jemma leaning on him for support.  And I would love a good Deke/Fitz team up but my expectations are lower on that one with Fitz in hiding.

But yes, that was one of the very surprising developments that came out of SDCC.   Elizabeth, Iain, Jed, and Mo all left early, missing press day which is a really big deal, to return and film for a 12 hour day.   With the rest of the main cast in SDCC it very much limits who they were working with down to guest stars.  This includes people we know that are in the mix like Joel and people they are hiding.

The 12 hour day can be a bit misleading.  For example the Izel swapping scene in the Lighthouse command center last season was a beast for them to film and took ages.  Same for those big one shot fight scenes.

But I do think that if it was just Elizabeth and Iain and maybe some guest stars (come on secret kid theory) did do something big for the end of the season.  With the main cast being gone and even some of the crew gone its also possible that it was a ‘red page’ situation where the pages were not in the table read and the rest of the cast doesn’t know what they did.  Elizabeth posting happy videos throughout the day also made me feel really good about whatever they were up too.

The other tell that whatever they were working on was big was that Jed and Mo went back as well to do it with them.  Jed wrote the episode the they have said many times over the years that they see themselves in Fitzsimmons and it makes sense to me that they would both be part of an important scene/scenes. 

As of now there are not stunt doubles listed for Elizabeth and Iain listed for the final episodes and we know they had wrapped before the last day of filming.  Based on social medial posts from the other cast members we know that Ming and Chloe at the very least went up til the end and the last thing they filmed was a crazy fight/stunt scene.   

Finally, its known that Iain was jumping back and forth throughout the filming of Season 7 and some of that filming could have been making up for other episodes or even a flashback.

Jemma pressed her hands to her jaw and winced. Fitz wasfurious.

“She’s dead because of you,” her best friend snapped.

“Sorry. I got busy—”

He gazed forlornly at the toy in his hand. “I don’t wantexcuses.”

“It’s just a Tamagotchi—”

“Just! Listen to yourself, Simmons, it’s like you don’t evencare.”

She huffed. “Suit yourself.”

Fitz pinched the bridge of his nose. “You pay for the movieand I’ll forgive you this once.” He pulled a pen out and flipped the Tamagotchito reset it. “And you can’t babysit Sookie again.” Fitz glared at her.

Fitz rushed to Jemma’s beside. The emergent c-section undergeneral anesthetic had left him in the waiting room with nothing to do butworry.

“She’s still groggy,” the nurse said. “I’ve told her thebaby’s fine three times now.”

Fitz sat down and took Jemma’s hand. She looked pale, andher eyes weren’t focused.

“Fitz,” Jemma murmured. “I have to tell you something.” Atear coursed down her cheek.

“Anything.”

“It’s about…about…they baby.”

He held her hand tightly. “You can tell me anything.”

Jemma hiccupped. “About the baby…it’s yours.”

“Ah.” He raised a brow. “Good to know, that.” He tried notto laugh. This was their fourth child, and there was no mistaking the parentageof the three other little ones who were at home with their “Uncle” Deke. It’dbe lucky if the house was still standing when he and Jemma got back.

“Are you mad I didn’t tell you?” Jemma asked, still silentlycrying.

“Not at all, but I’m very glad to know now.” What drugs hadthey given her? Fitz wiped her face with a flannel. “I’m happy to have a familywith you.”

“Fitz,” Jemma whispered urgently. “Now that you know, willyou marry me?”

“Absolutely.”
