Book No. 10

À tête-bêche quarto for LovelyFanficWriter (@firstkanaphans)’s gorgeous pair of Eclipse fics about Akk and Aye finding themselves in uni. They’re told from differing perspectives and feature some of my favourite tropes, including miscommunication that wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t quite so incredibly blockheaded.

I’m particularly fond of the endpapers, a sort of lustre-y, shimmery marbled effect whose colours I completely failed to capture here.

I left the fore edge untrimmed and only cut the pages as needed for the quarto folding; I feel like at this size it doesn’t hinder readability, and I knew I wasn’t doing to need a sanded fore edge for painting or gilding, so I decided not to take my chances with trimming. Also, I still have the scar on my finger from the last time I tried to chisel a text block, so.

Hi Sarah!! I’m definitely gonna forget someone but here we goooo. These are based on nothing except for the 🥰 factor whenever I see them. Also, you meant 5 actors and 5 actresses right?? I could not condense it. 😂

1. First Kanaphan - A shocker, I know. But when I saw him in The Eclipse with his annoyed face and gay panic! I was surprised to find him so funny in the BTS videos. I couldn’t help but love him with his cute smile and dimples. I started Not Me while the Eclipse was airing and I loved seeing the differences between Akk and Yok. But also Yok’s mischievous side? AND BIG BROWN (SAD) EYES. That was it.

2. War Wanarat - Within the last year I watched Love Mechanics and oooh boy. War made me want to hug Mark like 1000% of the time. Plus, his dimples. Need I say more? Also, his pottery videos on IG have captivated my whole heart. Just in general his smiling face can make my troubles disappear. Bonus for Sammer vids on YouTube. People and their dogs. I’m a goner.

3. Fourth Nattawat - My friend convinced me to watch The Thai version of Boys Over Flowers for her Dew Jirawat obsession. While watching I did love him, but also the minor character or Gorya’s brother played by Fourth. I thought his acting was so good and sincere and was blown away by his ability. I’m so glad I saw him and decided to continue following his works to MLC and MSP because he’s so much fun to watch.

4. Mix Sahaphap - He seems to always play some of my favorite characters no matter who they are. He is also such a sunshine presence whenever I need a pick-me-up; I can just watch videos of him laughing and instantly my mood is lightened.

5. Tay Tawan - I’m obsessed with tay and the fact that his acting is SO good with serious roles, yet all the bts stuff and outings he is a complete goofball maniac. I love that for him. I loved him in Remember You on Netflix and 3 Will Be Free, and was hooked after that.

1. Silvy Pavida - I first saw them in The Warp Effect, then Laws of Attraction. I feel like I can relate more to the characters they portray because they seem more realistic and every character (so far) is just so unapologetically her(them)self. I haven’t started My Marvellous Dream is You yet but I’m excited to see more of Silvy please and thank you.

2. Lookwa Pijika - Gun’s Mom in MSP, Li Ming’s mom in MLC, and corporate headache in Cherry Magic (TH) — I am always happy to see her appear in my shows!! I feel like she has diversity as an actor and also 🥹 She’s gorgeous.

3. Looknam Orntara - I thought she looked familiar when I saw her in The Sign, and I think I do remember her slightly from Gap which I never finished but her introduction in The Sign was one of my favorites. She immediately stole my heart and the scenes she was in. Not to mention she’s BADASS who didn’t take shit from anyone. I’m excited to see more of her.

4. Film Rachanun - I’m obsessed with her characters and how sarcastic and snarky they are. I can’t remember too much about all of her characters but the ones that stand out are Rung in Double Savage, Ploy in Ploy’s Yearbook, and Maki in Home School. Side note: she has the cutest dimple on her upper cheek.

5. View Benyapa - I first saw her in 10 Years Ticket and then kept seeing her pop in other shows I was finding. Her role in 55:15 Never Too Late reduced me to tears and I’ve been a big fan of hers ever since. She also has quite a range of characters she has played and I’m always intrigued to see what she’ll be in next.

Honorable Mentions because I can’t just not:

Namtan Tipnaree: I only semi remember her in Vice versa and Midnight Museum, but I definitely came to love her while watching UMG and Last Twilight. I don’t even really have coherent words for her actually I’m just 😍🥰 while watching her in anything.

Earth Pirapat: The range!! Playing a teenager and then a 40 year old man within a few years of each other!! I love him. I also did not know he could be SO FUNNY.

Khaotung Thanawat: captivated by his bad boy attitude and kissy faces in The Eclipse I’m always shocked and amazed by his range. Not to mention he’s adorable and I wanna put him in my pocket.

I know I forgot so many others but my brain is on overload.
