just held Popcorn in my arms and lil guy took a little nap im crying 😭
I was checking to see how they respond to handling after a while of not being handled and check their weight.
Bud is 88g‼️ healthy and growing lil cutie
Handling tho… could’ve been calmer, but definitely not scared of me. Still responsive to nose pets and leans into the pets. Has been nudging their head directly into my hand like trying to dig? Definitely likes being cradled or like held in a way that covers them. Hiding in wrinkles, clothing folds, and now my arms.
Oh and new thing I noticed (other than falling asleep in my arms 😭❤️) while being held my skink’s head acts like a gyroscope. Similar to how you can move a bird and their head will stay still. When I was holding popcorn I slowly turned a little and noticed lil guys head stay pointed in one direction then moved to where I turned. This also happened when I slowly move down or up. Naturally this freaked me out so I tried not to move as much.

My Pet
We have an African fire skink at work now. I've never met one or seen one. Its so pretty lol. These guys are native to the tropical forests of West Africa and can live 15 to 20 years in captivity.
