foxes: how to get the hot/cute girl dweeb look
i decided to call this “foxes” because the look reminds me a lot of the 70s librarian/loser look and those women are always super attractive and aspirational to me. i got a lot of inspo from @thatadult and their threads on twitter about how the dweeb look is coming back and after miu miu a/w 23 i really wanted to throw my own spin on it and incorporate elements into the coquette subculture! ive already posted examples of the darker color palette here this will mainly focus on ways to incorporate this into your wardrobe with what you already have!
the dweeby look includes elements like ill fitting clothing, lots of layers, age inappropriate attire (too young/childish or too old/matronly) and an overally cluttered and messy look
color palette: you can go with two!
dark palette: olives, browns, greys, maroons
patterns: tartan
light palette: whites, baby pinks, baby blues, soft oranges, soft greys
accessories: stuffed animal key chains, leg/arm warmers. thin frame/rectangular glasses, sheer tights, tighty whiteys, unlined bras, diy necklaces, mens ties, over the ear headphones, pageboy caps (especially knit/crochet) hair barettes and clips, fanny packs, tights in dark colors and plaid
clothing: turtlenecks, collegiate sweaters, dirty sneakers, long maxi skirts, buttoned up cardigans layered over collared shirts, graphic tees of old/childrens shows, ballet flats. vests, layered tank tops, bootcut jeans, overalls.
added details: runs in your tights, visible underwear lines (unflattering/boyish underwear is key), chipped nails, messy hair/cowlicks/flyaways or overly slicked/gelled hair
makeup: frosty lip gloss, messy black tight lined eyes, overblushing, bare brows, smudged lipstick, brightly colored nails
