I had do do a bit of research, I realized there are a lot of flowers. I did this instead of my math homework.

Wash: Blanket flowers, the multicolored ones. They remind me of his Hawaiian shirt, all colorful and shit

Zoe: Chocolate Cosmos! They're dark and very pretty, I have never seen one but they have Zoe vibes. Fierce and brave.

Jayne: Tiger Lily!! Whenever I see them, they seem mean but very vibrant, I dunno man, it's Jayne.

Kaylee: pink lily of the valleys, I think they're very nice. The pink reminds me of her frilly dress, besides, they're toxic. Kaylee is pretty but she could probably kick your ass.

Inara: Yellow and red Lantanas, they remind me of that one dress she wears, they're very intricate and I think she's also very complex and her dresses are detailed.

Mal: Snapdragons! I think the most I've ever seen them as skulls and stuff and Mal gets the rep for being a mean old man, but like him, the actual flower is frilly and nice ( Idk if that makes sense)

Book: Baby's breath, I like the simplicity of them, also, they kinda remind me of Book's hair.

River: I have two for her, Ghost Orchid because it looks like a bug. She kinda reminds me of a bug, a cool bug. And then there's Passionflower, it's vibes are erratic and that sums River up quite a bit, actually.

Simon: white egret orchid, they're my favorite flower, but they also remind me of prestige, kinda like Simon. He reminds me of a bird, too, tbh. Like an owl. Suspicious.

I also wanted to ask, if you want to answer, what’s your process for writing these super detailed and amazing stories?

i.....love outlining. love love to outline. and usually, for larger works like this, i keep running lists of plot related to character growth (ex: will struggles his sexuality/powers), plot outside the pov characters' control (agents kidnapping will's friends), and plot within the pov characters' control that *ideally* links to their growth (will successfully teleports and helps his friends) - combining these helps form the basic structure of the plot! then you multiply that by the 12 pov characters dhfjzhdgfvjz

i also spend a lot of time, especially with so many characters in this one, figuring out who is with who, what they're doing, and which dynamics i want to focus on. that usually sparks more threads to pull at. also, their cars! i had a whole list of where everyone's cars were, who was driving which car, who was watching baby nick (sorry holly), why certain parents weren't looking for their kids, etc. i think that def helps add to the realism and layers

and (probably most importantly), i fully complete my fics before publishing. it's tough, because you don't get any feedback, but it lets me keep everything very tonally consistent, allows better foreshadowing i think , and even though I write chronologically, the first chapter probably changed the most from beginning to end, just because i figured out where i wanted to go!

I had a thought 

so I went to rewatch the scene from hazbin hotel where Alastor rejects Vox 

and holy shit I just had a crisis bc I recognize Alastor’s reaction a lil more than I wanted to 

ik everyone is like “oh he didn’t have to be that harsh in his reaction” but uhhh I recognize that reaction and I don’t think he’s intentionally trying to be that harsh 

but I recognize that.

That is him exaggerating the reaction so that there is no possibility that it could be confused for a yes.

Especially with how often in that scene he hides his face while laughing

If Alastor actually thought that him and Vox were not and could never be friends, then he wouldn’t hide his face. 

There would be no reason for him to hide what his emotions were because that is a very complicated situation and it causes very complicated emotions.

Especially if you did want to believe what you were originally told but it wasn’t true.

But if Alastor shows that on his face, he has to admit that it hurt him. 

Which gives more opportunity for that to be used against him in the future by Vox 

and I know that because of the fact that I had to be a lot more of a bitch than I wanted to be when I had to repeatedly reject the guys in my auto class because I didn’t want to give them any nuance to use against me
