Daycare Attendant OCes hmmm? finally came up with a decent idea for them.

random facts 'bout them which I thought of while designing them:

raindrop can get along with older children while fire is terrible at interaction with toddlers. though, older children don't really like rain because he's too boring for them.

fire is popular with teens even though he was designed for children.

Drag-and-drop website builders have been such a pain in my behind since they started to just BE everywhere. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry think they can now “code” a site and be a professional, make money from it, and leave those who can actually design and develop website, and who have studied for it, in the dust. Why? Because the dragging and dropping is faster, clients get their sites up quicker, they pay less, etc.

And here we are, web designers and developers, struggling to get a client to pay the money that they should for such a service –“But this one guy can do it much quicker and I pay next to nothing”... Ask yourself, does a ‘quick-fix’ or a ‘quick-job’ leave your business or service looking professional? Will people think your service or business is worth it if you can’t even pay a professional properly for something that will give you that amount of money back 10-fold? 

With that being said, I have to talk about Firedrop. This time it’s just designed for you by an A.I. 

Sounds really awesome, right? I know technologies are advancing, I know that A.I is starting to take over the world – hopefully in a good way – I also know that many people can’t afford a professionally designed site or software or a mobile-like app, so they go to these services because it’s easier and they can get started so much quicker. I’m thinking about bloggers or someone who needs a site to sell a service that hasn’t taken off yet or some product and so on. 

I’d like to get my head around these services, and yes, you do actually pay something eventually, mostly to get the ‘wix’ sign out your footer, for example. But will this actually replace web designers and developers? Are these services so advanced that they can build complicated software and databases and tailor everything to your needs? There has to be limitations somewhere. 

So, the reason for this post is that I saw this trending on Twitter. A.I is all the rage now, so why not implement it into something like building websites? Have it do all the hard-lifting for you. If I wanted a site and were to be in a different field, this would be so very appealing to me. I’d definitely give it a go. 

Although this comes off as bashing a service that seems to be really awesome (I’ve yet to give this a try), it’s not. I just generally don’t like people telling me that they are now professional web developers because they used Wix to make a site – Saying that to someone who has been studying design and development for 5 years is somewhat of a slap in the face, no? 

But, after putting my ego aside, I feel like this is really a great service. Telling an A.I to change the color palette and then give you a heaping load of options is pretty cool. It saves you making a bunch manually. But as for the actual development stages, I’d have to give this a fair chance before I can comment. 

I’d love to hear what people think about these services and if they have used them before.
