These cupcakes with fire themes are great for small, love-filled destination weddings. They look great on your wedding dessert table because the marbled red and orange colors show how passionate and warm your love is.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup buttermilk. Red and orange food coloring. Fire-themed cupcake liners. Fire-themed sprinkles.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with the fire-themed cupcake liners. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Divide the cupcake batter into two separate bowls. Tint one portion with red food coloring and the other with orange food coloring until you achieve your desired fiery colors. Layer the two colored batters in the cupcake liners, starting with one color, and then adding a spoonful of the other color on top. Swirl them together gently with a toothpick for a marbled effect. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with your favorite frosting and decorate with fire-themed sprinkles. Serve these fiery cupcakes at your intimate destination wedding and watch them light up your special day!
