Made in 1874, this view of Chicago, Illinois, shows a town that had grown out of the prairie in thirty years to become the second largest city in the United States (it is now the third largest, after New York and Los Angeles).

Only three years earlier, the city had experienced a terrible fire through which approx. 300 people lost their lives and 100,000 residents were made homeless. The majority of the city's structures had been made from wood. Despite this catastrophe, the city's population continued to grow, reaching over a million by 1900 and it saw the construction of the world's first skyscraper in 1885. Chicago built its economy on grain, pork and beef and became a major transportation centre with the construction of the Illinois and Michigan Canal and the railroads network.

Then I dehydrated it, and put a tinfoil ball in to try and keep it from completely collapsing and it went a weird shape but I still liked it.

Then I tried it with another tealight and it was so cute but also it's very dry now because dehydrated and so I've scorched it but also I think it looks extra cool.
