Happy Friday (and WHAT a happy Friday. Wardens with hot voices? A new qunari wife for us to love and support? GUNS? da4 better deliver, I swear to God)

It’s that time of the week again - lets rec some fics! Here’s a few I’ve loved recently:

- Night Shift by ghostbunny (@pinkfadespirit​). A modern DA2 AU with Fenris as a vampire, Marian Hawke as a vampire hunter, a fucking FANTASTIC Garrett and a lot of messy, slow-burn feelings. Really fun and REALLY well-written.

- Take A Chant on Me by ViscariaFields (@nug-juggler​) is the Mamma Mia! DA2 crackfic that I didn’t know I needed, but I needed. It’s art. It’s beautiful. I’ve looked at it for five hours now. There is nothing more I can say.

- what not to expect when you’re expecting by asexuelf is a very sweet Fenrill  (a.k.a. the rarepair I now love) fic about a very pregnant Merrill and a very anxious (but very happy) Fenris. Oh, and cats. It’s very sweet. Did I mention it’s sweet?

- A Little Different by @fine-tevinter-wines​ is a lovely series of vignettes about a Hawke whose origins are, as the title suggests, a little different. Beautifully written, with a lot of Hawke family feels.

And because I’m really cheeky, have my first completed fic, this is how the light gets in - a handers two-shot involving a Marian Hawke who really doesn’t enjoy feelings, a very sweet Anders and a breakfast date with a delicious side-helping of angst.

1. First impression: This person seems nice and has an interesting rarepair!

2. Truth is: You’re one of the kindest most considerate people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know, and you make some really beautiful art and writing.  I’m glad that we got to know each other. <3

 3. How old do you look:  I think you look your age!  (I think most people look their age except on rare occasions :D)

 4. Have you ever made me laugh: Yes!  Remember that time when you drew Nate with a little knitted sock over his nose? Or just the other day when we were chatting about Blackwall’s hygeine practices? Super funny. 

5. Have you ever made me mad: Not even once, not even a little. 

 6. Best feature: Is it weird to say “your soul?”  Personality just doesn’t seem deep enough.  You are truly such a beautiful person, and the way you tackle obstacles with grace and empathy is really rare and I appreciate that about you. 

7. Have I ever had a crush on you: Not in a conventional way, because I don’t really get crushes, but I definitely have admired you and your friendship <3

1. First impression: Omg a fellow sad old elf lover?!? Who also works as a translator?!? Hnng, wanna friend so badly.

2. Truth is: Friendly person who deserves so much better

3. How old do you look: You look so young?!? If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were 16 (or at least a bit younger than me).

4. Have you ever made me laugh: Absolutely!

5. Have you ever made me mad: Mad? No! But sometimes frustrated. I wish I could manifest as a ghost and encourage you whenever the world, be it mean anons or real-life people, decides to tear you down. Alas, I can’t and I don’t have the courage to always do so online. So I’m sitting here like “you don’t have to put up with this bullshit; you’re worth so much more than you realize.” Just know you can always talk to me if you wish.

6. Best feature: You are very creative and I think you always look for the best in everyone and everything - even if it may not reveal itself at first. The world needs more people with that attitude.

7. Have I ever had a crush on you: No, but you do trigger my “must protect at all cost”- sense
