Final weeks
Yes weeks. I’m not talking about finals week. I talking about the weeks leading up to that. The weeks that are chock full of last minute exams and projects. The weeks that have you stay up well past midnight studying or doing assignments even though you might have an 8am. Those final weeks where the finish line seems so close yet so far. When you feel so burnt out that you just want to sleep for a week and never come back. This year might be harder then you remember. You might have gotten less breaks or no breaks at all. You might feel like you’re at your breaking point. You might calculating what you need to make on these last assignments or the final so that you can pass or maybe bump your grade. Everyone is telling you to finish strong, your family, your friends, your professors. It still might not seem like enough. It can be easy to call it quits. To drop out or change to an easier major. That would be the easy way out. Remember that nothing worth having comes easy. It’s hard work. It’s blood, sweat, and tears. It’s sacrifice. But diamonds are only formed from pressure and gold is refined by being put through the fire multiple times. You can make it through this. You will be stronger for it and you are already so strong for making it this far. The finish line is within reach. You can see it. Start sprinting. Go as hard as you can. Even if you don’t get the grades that you wanted, that’s ok as long as you tried your hardest. Your effort will show and if it’s not now then later. Your grades do not define you nor your worth. And don’t forget to take a little time to enjoy the moment. If your up at 2am step outside and take in the stillness of the night for a few minutes. If it’s raining close your eyes and listen to the pitter patter. Take a shower while playing your favorite music and sing along as loud as you can. Let me leave you with this. You are doing great. You are loved. You are worth loving. I believe in you.
