what’s in a name?
BARRIERS comes with yet another new incarnation of FRANK IERO’S backing band. And it’s been a steady evolution…
Kerrang! (UK)

“I chose this name in fear of, like, having a solo career or project. I needed something boisterous and entertaining to take away from it being just my thing. The spelling was kind of based off of the building blocks of life, like giving it some sort of feeling of an organism that’s growing and can evolve.”
Frank Iero And The Patience
“This one went into two phases, because I felt like I wanted to kind of… not slow down, but appreciate the now, and I felt like that virtue is something that I’ve always needed help with. And if I brought that it could kind of be like a selffulfilling prophecy…”
Frank Iero And The Patients
“And then the accident happened, so we renamed the band to The Patients [on the Keep The Coffins Coming EP] because we were all in the fucking hospital! And that just seemed kind of clever to us.”
Frank Iero And The Future Violents
“This one is serendipitous. We were on the plane to Australia, and the steward said, ‘You guys seem like you’re in a band, what’s your name?’ We said, ‘It’s Frank Iero And The Patients,’ and he said, ‘ The Future Violents?’ And I wrote it down because I thought it was hysterical. So, when this project was coming about, I started to think about that name and what it meant to me.”
