Since I realized I haven’t posted anything of worth original in a while here’s two guns I designed for a friend a while ago based entirely around his obsession with revolvers and pump actions, you can guess who it’s named after. The top one was based around his personal idea of the perfect rifle and the bottom was more a gag since, in his words, “break actions belong on shotguns and have no business being anywhere near revolvers.”
LORE TIME
The Turunen is an odd duck, originating from the independent Karelia system as a workaround for the governments restrictive gun laws. The main two pieces of legislation being a ban on so-called military cartridges and a capacity exceeding 10 rounds. As the most popular and well-established cartridges on the market prior to this were either currently in service with every major power or legacy ammo from Earths pre-space era, consumers in the system’s choice in ammo was basically wiped out overnight. In light of this, it was decided it’d be the perfect time to make something wholly new.
The rifle utilizes a heavily modified version of the Nagant gas seal design, the 10x55mm cartridge is effectively just a full caliber version of the ancient 7.62x38 pistol cartridge. By going with this admittedly unusual system and case they completely eliminated the issue of gas escaping from the cylinder gap, gaining both a boost to bullet velocity and completely removing the issue of gas burning the shooter that was common to traditional revolver carbines. The model 1 sold quickly, appealing to the systems substantial hunting community. When 12 gauge shells were removed from the ban list following successful petitioning, the Model 2 was quickly developed and released, though it found substantially less success as other more traditional (and practical) shotguns became available.
When the system later broke out into civil war, the still popular Model 1 was a common sight in the hands of irregulars and guerilla fighters, becoming infamous for the gruesome wounds the incredibly large 10mm round left in its targets. Though they became less desirable as fighters got their hands on more self loading designs, it still managed to stick around for the duration of the hostilities despite this. When the Karelia system was later annexed by the Imperial Union and the fighting brought to an immediate stop by the occupying Imperial Marines, the rifle settled back into it’s originally intended hunting role comfortably, albeit with a number of gruesome nicknames. Perhaps most telling of its newfound reputation, the Turunen company would change its motto a few years after the beginning of the Imperial occupation:
“Turunen: Because a revolution needs a revolving action!”

I actually kinda want that gun now. A G3, HK33/53 or MP5 with an M14 EBR stock is kinda sexy. And I love straight mags on MP5's. Oh lawdy lawd. Dem old school mags.
Being in .44 would be kinda cool too. FUND IT.
