How about: "I don't think I've ever seen you smile" and "Oh, don't be cute"/"Wait, did you just say that I'm cute?"
Thanks!!

Main Master List  |  Star Wars Fic Roulette
Hunter flicked his knife back and forth in between his fingers, as he contemplated the next mission. Things were ⌠different, since you joined. Not good or bad ⌠just different. It been about six months, and yes, the Marauder was cleaner and didnât have that lingering smell anymore, and yes, the meals had gotten better too, because you refused to just eat the ration bars the GAR provided. And ⌠okay, it was nice to see your smiling face in the morning, compared to the miserable faces of his brothers.Â
Yet, he still felt awkward around you. He wanted to laugh with you, like you could so easily with Wrecker, to have deep discussion, like you could with Tech, even philosophical discussions like you did with Echo. Hell, heâd be happy if he could just do target practice with you, like you did with Crosshair, but ⌠every time he opened his mouth, he was curt, short tempered, and on edge.Â
It wasnât even your fault, it was just him.Â
He stood from his seat, heading down the ramp and taking in a breath of fresh air. You were cooking dinner, doing your best to teach Wrecker that just because salt tasted good, didnât mean he had to put in a whole table spoon full.Â
It made him laugh a little as you tried to explain in your most patient voice possible, that youâd fix the dinner and Wrecker could go help Tech or Crosshair with something else. It was your polite way of saying âgo away.â
Hunter tried but he couldnât stop the smile on his lips, as he walked over to you.
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile" you pointed out as he walked up to you. âWhatâs got you so happy?â
âOh, I just saw how you were very tactful with Wrecker. It was funny.â
You shrugged trying to fight back your own laughter as you tried to fix the stew, by adding more water, âHe tried. Iâm grateful heâs willing to learn.â
âNeed help? Iâm not completely inept when it comes to cooking.â
You looked a little surprised when he asked, not that his offering to help was a real shock, it was the fact you realized this was the first time you two had a proper conversation. âUm ⌠yeah, if you donât mind using your handy dandy knife there, that you like flipping around so much, to cut up some of these veggies so I can add them, thatâd be great.â
Hunter chuckled at your description, as he nodded, taking a seat and getting to work, âWhere did you learn to cook?â He asked, hoping to get to know you a little better.
âMy mom and grandmother. They were adamant that I learn how to feed an army if I ever needed to âŚâ you chuckled, âI had a big family, back home. Usually there would be around twenty of us for dinner.â
âTwenty? Did you have a lot of siblings?â
âNo. It was just me. But I had uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, neighbours, anyone and everyone who needed a meal could always come to our place for dinner. We never turned away anyone in need of a good meal.â
âSounds nice.â
âIt was âŚâ a sadness passed your face, as you thought back to what had once been your home, until the Separatist droid army showed up, and destroyed everything you had held so dear.Â
Hunter saw your smile slip, it pained him to see that you had been through so much, although he hadnât heard about it directly from you, he did overhear what had happened when you were talking with Tech. âWell we appreciate all your efforts, especially when youâre trying to teach us neanderthals how to cook.â
You giggled a little, pushing away the sad thoughts that had encapsulated your mind for a split second, âYouâre not neanderthals.â
âWeâre not exactly proper either. Couldnât say, weâre exactly suited for a posh dinner.â
You shook your head as you laughed, âYou donât need to be suited for a posh dinner, you just need to show up to eat.â You smiled as you turned to look at him, smirking as you saw how perfectly he cut each vegetable.
You walked over and grabbed the tray of veggies, and dropped them into the stew, âThanks for your help.â
âOf course. Can I ask you a question?â
âSureâ
âWhy do you take care of us? I mean granted the Marauder smells a lot better, and the meals you cook are much better than the GAR rations, but ⌠why do you do it?â
You stirred the stew as you contemplated the question, âI guess ⌠because you feel like family to me.â You turned to look at him, truthfully, he was the only one that you didnât think of as family, you wanted something more with him, something special, but seeing as this was the first time you two actually talked, it might be a bit far-fetched to imagine that could possibly happen. âAnd, I love seeing how my food makes you guys happy. Wrecker, has the biggest smile on his face, whenever he eats when I cook. Tech has this adorable blush, although heâll never admit how much he enjoys my cooking. And Crosshair ⌠well he always comes back for seconds; and frankly, between you and me, he needs to eat more. Heâs too skinny. I could break off his collarbone if I needed.â
âI enjoy it too,â Hunter clarified as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, âI might not say it, but I always look forward to your cooking.â He blushed and turned his head away, not wanting you to see how much of an effect you had on him, and not just because of your cooking.Â
You laughed at his reaction, "Oh, don't be cuteâ you teased, âI might have to walk over there and pinch your cheeks.â
Hunter started to laugh, when he realized what you said, âWait, did you just say that I'm cute?"

âScott?â Stiles asks from the bottom step ofthe stairs, his voice low and full of warning. Heâd beenin the study, planning to do the administration but actually watchingconspiracy videos on YouTube, when heâd heardthe key in the front door and gone downstairs to greet his husband.
Scottâs smilewhen he looks up at Stiles is a little strained.
âWhatâs with the box?â Stiles continues. He folds his armsacross his chest.
âWhatbox?â
âThe onebehind your back.â
âOh,that one.â Scott turns his body andstarts walking backwards into the living room, making sure to keep the contentsof the box hidden behind his back. âNothing.â He freezes for a second, then startswalking away faster.
Stiles follows him, eyebrows raised. âNothing, huh? Then whatâs that little grey fuzzball peekingover your shoulder?â
Scott keeps that strained smile on his face as he reachesover and plucks the kitten off his shoulder and cradles it protectively againsthis chest. âOh wow,â he laughs awkwardly. âHow did she get there?â
âClimbedout of that box and up the back of your coat, would be my guess,â Stiles says, rolling his eyes. Scottâs not the best of liars, but even forhim this is terrible.
âOkay.Just⌠hear me out,â Scott says. He walks the rest of theway to the living room, sits down on the couch and sets the box on the coffee table.Thereâs a fluffy green towel inside. âIf you still want her goneafter, Iâll bring her back to theclinic. Tonight.â
Stiles thinks it over. If he hears Scott out, thereâs a ninety percent chance the kittenâs staying. They had a plan: get thejobs they want, make sure theyâresecure in those jobs, save money, and then they adopt pets and children. Hesits down next to Scott anyway.
âThislittle girlâs mom had too many babies andcouldnât feed them all, and theowners didnât have the time to reallytake care of her, so we kept this one tobottle feed, but sheâsgetting too old to stay with us, which means sheâll haveto go to the shelter, butââ
âBut yougot attached,â Stiles sighs. He canât blame him. Sheâs adorable, with big blue eyes andfluffy grey fur. She looks at him, blinks slowly, then meows plaintively. âOkay, fine,â Stiles says, smiling at Scottâs victorious grin. He takes thekitten from Scott, and his chest feels tight for a second. Sheâs so small and soft, so vulnerable. He settles her in the crook of his arm, where she nestles in and promptly fallsasleep.
âI loveyou,â Scott says.
âI loveyou, too.â
âI wastalking to her.â Scott carefully strokes thekittenâs little head with onefinger. Stiles would flip him off if he didnât thinkit would wake their kitten. âWhatare we going to name her?â Scottasks.
âDustbunny,â Stiles decides. âBecause she looks like one.â
âBunnyfor short, I assume?â
âDuh.â
âIâm also assuming that Iâm gonna have to make dinner?â
Stiles nods at Dustbunny. âThereâs a cat sleeping on me. I canât do anything until she wakes up.â
Scott laughs. âWell,I should probably get the food and toys inside first.â
âHowâd you know Iâd say yes?âÂ
âBecauseI know you,â Scott says, standing up. Hepresses a kiss to the top of Stilesâ headand walks back to his car.
âHeâs right. I could never say no to you,â Stiles whispers to Dustbunny. âYouâre going to be horribly spoiled.â

Iâve never tried writing this pairing before. I kept it pretty G, but I could see myself maybe exploring them some more. Theyâre fun together!
For Anon
Characters: Nyx + Prompto
Prompt: âI locked the keys in the car.â
Word Count: 772
âNoctis is gonna kill me!â Prompto declared, falling into a squat next to the car. âThen King Regis will revive me just to kill me again. Oh, and letâs not forget the wrath of Ignis!â Hooking his arms over his head, he let out a moan that echoed through the parking garage. As he whimpered and whined about his early demise, he didnât notice he wasnât alone on this level.
Hands shoved deep in his pockets, Nyx Ulric followed the mournful wail to see if he could lend a hand. The voice sounded familiar, and if it belonged to who he thought it didâŚwell, it wasnât the first or last time he would help them out.
Rounding the bumper of Prince Noctisâ car, Nyx quirked a brow at the little blond lump next to the driverâs side door. He stood there, waiting to be noticed, but all Prompto did was mutter about his impending death.
        âNeed a hand here, chickadee?â
Startled by the voice, Prompto jumped, falling against the car. He sat on the concrete for a moment, gawking up at Nyx with wide periwinkle eyes.
Nyx grinned at the stunned silence. Extending a hand, he hauled Prompto to his feet. Looking down at the pouting teen, he hooked his arm around his shoulders. Sad eyes peeked back from behind a chunk of blond fringe.
        âHelp.â
Nyx had to bite his lip to keep his opinion on Promptoâs cuteness to himself. âWhat did you do?â
        âPromise you wonât laugh?â
The man raised a brow in thought as he stared at Prompto. ââŚNo.â
âThen I donât wanna tell you,â Prompto grumbled, crossing his arms as he glared at the car.
Nyx clapped Prompto on the shoulder as he turned to walk away. âGuess you donât need my help, then. See ya later, chickadee.â
Prompto hesitated as Nyx started walking away. The heels of the manâs boots clicked on the concrete as he strolled down the row of vehicles.
        âWait!â
Nyx stopped but didnât turn back.
âI locked the keys in the car,â Prompto mumbled.
Slowly turned around to face Prompto, Nyxâs brows arched. âYou what?â
âI locked the keys in the car!â
Yeah, there was no way he could have kept a promise not to laugh. âSeriously? Why the hell dâyou even have the Princeâs keys?â he asked when he calmed down.
âOkay, A; youâre a jerk. And B; it's not funny. Noct was in a hurry, so I offered to park the car for him and return the keys when I see him later.â
âCanât believe he trusted you,â Nyx commented, smirking at Prompto.
âHe never will again if you donât help me!â Prompto put his hands together, pleading the Glaive for assistance.
âWhatâs in it for me?â He watched Prompto squirm under his gaze, knowing if he wanted help, he would have to offer something in return. Nyx would help regardless, but this was more fun.
Prompto blushed, holding Nyxâs steely gaze. âReally? Canât you do this outta the kindness of your heart?â
âYâknow, I think I should get paid for sticking my neck out for you all the time, short stack.â Crossing his arms, Nyx looked Prompto up and down. He squirmed and brushed his bangs away from his eyes. Licking his lips, he glanced at the car, weighing the pros and cons of his current predicament.
âIâŚIâll do that thing you like,â Prompto muttered.
Nyxâs eyebrow may as well have had a permanent arch at this point. âWill you, now?â
âPromise! I wonât even chicken out in the middle!â
A bright grin washed over Nyxâs features. âIâll hold you to that, pip-squeak. Okay, Iâll help.â
Relief washed through Prompto and he latched onto Nyxâs arm. âThank you, thank you, thank you! So, what do we do?â
Nyx looked directly at Prompto, reached down, and grabbed the handle. Holding the blondâs gaze, he popped the latch and opened the car door.
Promptoâs jaw dropped. âWhaâ? But! How didâ?â Eyes flicking back and forth from the man to the car, Prompto babbled incomplete questions.
Somehow keeping his expression neutral, Nyx reached into his pocket and pulled out a key fob. âSpare, just in case. With auto-lock.â
âYou had that all along, and you just let me suffer?â Prompto gaped, freckled nose wrinkled up.
Nyx shrugged one shoulder, ducking into the vehicle to retrieve the keys. âI like watching you squirm.â Winking, Nyx tossed the keys at Prompto. âSee you tonight.â
Heâd never hear the end of it, but the look on Promptoâs face as he walked away kept a smile on his lips for the rest of the day.
Hereâs the deal, everyone. I thought of this idea a long time ago and...never did it? No reason. Just forgot and then I remembered. Itâs called Fic Roulette. On my side of the screen, I have characters/people, prompts, songs, dialogue. On your side, you have the âindicatorsâ. The fun part is, you have NO idea whatâs on the other side. Think of it as a mystery grab bag. Each one corresponds with something on my side. It could be Marvel, SPN, real person, it could be a funny quote, it could be a sad prompt...The possibilities and combos are sort of endless.
What do I need from you? I need one ask, giving me a number, color, plant or flower, and aesthetic from the ones listed below. This counts as âvotesâ.
I.e. âanonâ writes in and says: 2, blue, Daisy, and hero. Then if another person asks: 2, aqua, oak, and hemingway - then thatâs two votes for â2âł and thatâs in the lead. I need one of each of the categories. Each part is going to build a fic for me.
Whichever items get the most votes is what Iâll pair together and write. Once Iâve closed voting, Iâll let you all know what you picked (which votes won).
When is the deadline? Right now, itâs open ended. I have quite a few followers and I want all of you to get a chance to see this, and with the Holiday season happening, I think some of you arenât on Tumblr as much, so I bet this wonât close until late Feb, possibly later.Â
How about 17 and 46 with Rex??? Only if u want to!!!
Hello gorgeous @skyofnostars,
You're so sweet. Of course, I want to.
I hope you'll enjoy this one. I was debating on which way I wanted this to go, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Also the story got away from me, so enjoy the 1400 words.
Love oo,
The Kiss
Warnings: Angst, kissing, drunken state, loss of life, Krell era, comfort, misunderstanding, I think that's it. If I miss any please let me know.
Main Master List  |  Star Wars Fic Roulette
Rex sat in his office going over several datapads reviewing the reports from several Majors, Lieutenants and Sergeants, each discussing from their own point of view how the battle progressed. Technically, some of this shouldâve been handled by the General, but right now ⌠they had to deal with General Krell, and he wasnât going to let his man have to put up with anymore of his tyrannical way of thinking.Â
His eyes looked over the list of soldiers that had been lost from Krellâs last battle plan, his heart tightening with each name, each brother now gone. Simply because that Jedi ⌠no, heâs no Jedi. Heâs a monster. A vile excuse for a man who was currently in charge, at least until General Skywalker came back.Â
The Captain rolled his neck side to side, closing his eyes, trying to silence the anger and frustration that had grown within him. Why did General Skywalker have to be called away now? No, why did they have to be stuck with a General that clearly didnât care about his troops.Â
You slowly made your way to Rexâs office, you were dreading having to face Rex, not only did you have to turn in your own report, but on top of all the other issues between you and Rex right now, you were going to have to apologize for your actions on the field. Krell pushed your buttons and you lashed out at him, well not just Krell, but also at Rex, it wasnât Rexâs fault, you knew that; but it was all too much. Then to make matters worse he was the one who saved you, when you were getting ready to punch Krell.
He stood in front of you, dressing you down in front of the General. Telling you to learn your place. You knew he did it, so the General wouldnât have an excuse to step in; it was embarrassing and awful, but he did save you; saved you from a court martial or worse, at least.Â
Maker, why was it so hard to be around him, now?Â
For a long time Rex and you were friends. It was an almost instantaneous friendship from the moment you two met. Then one night, one stupid drunken night at 79s you accidentally kissed him, which simultaneously sobered you up and ruined the friendship you both had.Â
After that night Rex kept his distance, the first real conversation you had with him was when you were yelling at him and General Krell, and he yelled back at you. Which wasnât even a conversation, really.
Yet, now there were no more options left, as much as he wanted to avoid you, heâd have no option but to talk to you. Especially, since you had concerns about Krell.Â
You took a deep breath and knocked on the door.Â
âCome in.â
A moment was all you needed as you steadied your breath, before walking in. You stood at attention, waiting for Rex to acknowledge your presence.Â
He took a second to calm his nerves, his eyes refusing to meet yours.Â
âLieutenant.â
âCaptain, Iâm here to give you my report.âÂ
You held out the datapad to him, your heart aching, missing the camaraderie you both had once enjoyed. You missed it all, the joking, the laughing, the subtle flirting from your end, it had all stopped after that kiss.Â
He drew a clear line between you two and that was all there was to it.Â
âYou can just leave it on the desk,â he focused his attention back on the report in front of him.Â
He wanted to look at you, he wanted to talk to you, but he didnât deserve that. Especially, since when you drunkenly kissed him, it had been the most perfect kiss he ever imagined he couldâve had with you. He enjoyed the feel of your lips on his, the warmth from your breath gently washing over his skin, the weight of you in his arms, the way you made him feel, it was everything he couldâve possibly wanted. It was then he realized how much he cared for you. How much he wanted something more with you, but that wasnât possible.Â
He felt as though heâd abused your kindness, your friendship. He felt ashamed to be near you.
You let out a sigh as you looked at him, âWill you ever look me in the eyes again?â
Rex didnât have it within himself to answer you, much less to look at you.
Youâd done this, youâd ruined your friendship. If you hadnât been so drunk that night, if you hadnât pushed the limits of your friendship none of this would be happening.Â
âIâm sorry.â You started, âIâm sorry for overstepping that night and kissing you,â Rex lifted his eyes to look at you, his heart tightened when he heard you regretted kissing him. His eyes took in all your features, studying each section of your face. Maker, how he missed your face, missed you. âAnyway, I just wanted to say thank you for protecting me with Krell. I know I really put my foot in it and if it wasnât for you stepping in and covering over what I said or was about to do âŚâ
âWell you always manage to make my life interesting,â he smirked as he looked at you, âIâm just glad I stopped you off before you actually hit him. Truthfully, I didnât want him to demote you or kick you out of the GAR, so I went a bit extra.â
âItâs fine, and you know, even if he didnât react at that moment, I have a feeling heâs going to get back at me, one way or another. He may be a Jedi, but I think even he would think twice before going against someone related to one of the Republic Senators.â
âI highly doubt that wouldâve phased him.â
âProbably not.â You smiled as you looked at him, âI am sorry about everything. Iâm sorry I ruined our friendship that night and ⌠I know you donât feel comfortable around me âŚâ
âWait,â Rex held up his hand, âDo you think Iâm avoiding you because ⌠Iâm mad at you or something?â
âArenât you?â
Rex closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, running his hands over his face, âNo.â He stood from his seat and walked over to you. As he looked into your eyes, he felt his heart start to beat faster, he slowly reached up his hand gently caressing your cheek. âCyarâika, the reason I was avoiding you was because ⌠if I didnât I wouldâve overstepped. The moment you kissed me, I realized I was in love with you. Iâve been in love with you this whole time. This entire time, Iâd been taking advantage of your kindness and sincerity, just so I could get close to you. Iâll understand if you donât feel the same way, if you regret kissing me, but I want you to know, I love you.â
âYou love me?â
âI have. I do. For a long time.â
You closed your eyes, your smile reaching all the way to your ears as you leaned into his hand, holding his hand against your cheek. âLook at you, showing some actual good taste. Iâm almost impressed.â You laughed, as you slowly opened your eyes to look at him, âRex, Iâve loved you from the moment we met. Maybe I didnât realize it was love at first, but now looking back ⌠itâs the only thing that makes sense. I love you, and truthfully, I donât regret kissing you. I regretted the fact it pushed us apart.â
His lips gently pressed against your forehead, his other hand moved to the back of your head holding you close, âIâm sorry for pushing you away. I shouldâve talked to you instead of making decisions on both of our behalf.â
âItâs okayâ your hands went to his waist and pulled him closer. âYouâre here now.â You opened your eyes, pulling away slightly to look at him, âWhat are we going to do about Krell? I donât trust him. If this continues you wonât have any brothers left, and not to mention âŚâ
âShhhhâ he pressed another kiss to your forehead, cutting you off, âI know, cyarâika. I know.â Rex pulled you into a hug, burying his face in the crook of your neck, âRight now, though. I just want to hold you in my arms and not worry about him. At least for a little bit.â
You didnât fight him on it, you simply nodded, wrapping your arms around his torso as you pulled him in closer. There was time to deal with Krell, at least thatâs what you hoped.Â
