Got down to the teeth on friday night, fished for a few hours but then hit the pollow and got some sleep in the tent (must invest in a super cosy sleeping bag - it was freezing on the shingle). We caught the usual chesil critters but managed a tiny starry smoothound.
Woke up Saturday morning and fished from first light until about 5pm. It was rubbish, wind very strong and straight in the face, casting was aweful. Managed 3 dabs, a schoolie bass of about lb and a dogfish. Max had 1 dab and 1 tiny plaice. It was very lumpy, surprized we caught those flats really. We did plan on staying the saturday night down there but decided to try Croyde.
Got to Croyde at around 8pm and conditions looked spot on with nice white water rolling in. The last surfer left the beach just as the light faded, then we started fishing. Weed was a serious pain for the first hour or so but it soon clearned. Not much else to say other than we both blanked. Not even a schoolie nibble, really surpized as last time I was there just a few weeks back it was looking promising.
