FFXIV Writing - Prompt 28
Quiet, peaceful, calm. These aren't really things that were associated with Katalin. The closest would be casual, dismissive, occasionally lazy. Or asleep, she could fall into a light sleep near instantly and a much deeper one at the end of the night with little effort.
This though. This was day three of their waiting here and they were trying to avoid any undue attention while she was supposedly 'training' Radasa. Which... was boring. They had reviewed some on how to behave and mimic the training, expectations and such, but Katalin had little interest in having a slave of her own. What she wanted to was to be out and about.
As a guest, Katalin had some privileges to move about the building. She could probably have even left, but would have to leave Radasa behind which was unthinkable. A few short jaunts were made, just to give them both some time away from each other, but never more than a few minutes. She was on one such now, having met with one of the servants to receive a package.
The Hrothgar from before happened by and they struck up a conversation - he seemed interested in volunteering to be 'trained' himself but Katalin demurred. She dragged the conversation on a bit longer that necessary, teasing him as she kept an eye on the hallway leading to their room. Hopefully being seen every so often would help her avoid suspicion and it was nice to have someone else to speak with who wasn't completely horrific. She noticed a figure heading in the direction of their room and broke the conversation off with no promises, abruptly dismissing him and turning away with a click of her heels to return to the room. It had just been a servant passing by, false alarm.
Radasa was still inside when Katalin opened the door. She closed it firmly behind her, then knelt down to restore the makeshift wedge they were using. Finally she made her way to her bed and sat down with a disgruntled sigh, dropping some overly complicated leather contraption next to her. "We won't be needing that at least."
She laid back on the bed and gave a frustrated grunt, kicking her heels against its frame. "I am so bored!"
