As we’re talking about strategy guides, and how genuinely terrible Brady Games guides are (honestly, lads if you don’t know they’re notoriously bad!) there’s a 2019 Jason Schreier Kotaku interview with the co-writer of the DoC and CC guides where he says he hasn’t played a single FF game since the original FF7, so there’s your answer right there as to why the DoC guide is so terrible, lmao! He goes on to say that very little was supplied to guide writers by publishers such as Square, literally just character art mainly, so bios etc were essentially entirely made up by the guide writers. He did say that the guides would go back to the publishers for final check but they were pretty much only looking for typos, or very specific brand inaccuracies, so people can make of that what they will. I'm low key disgusted they just make up profile info based on what they remember and their own bias. Totally explains the bs in the DC guide. A lot of dumdums seem to infest companies that deal with delivering info. I mean, look at the sena translation team and their blatant bs with the script. That wasn't their job. Same way with these people. Didn't play the games, but we're supposed to rely on them for info?
There's no Remake strategy guide in English, but for other guides I recommend piggyback. Yeah, they chonk and they do the job. What else do you want?
