I discovered a couple of weeks ago that my fanfic ideas file had corrupted and deleted everything! 😭
Thankfully today I managed to recover the file 🥳
Serves me right for only saving them onto memory stick and not backing them up, I will be more careful in future 😬

Don’t know exactly how you came up on my feed, but I read your handle and I just HAD to tell you that the Spanish neuroscientist Ramón y Cajal wrote fiction under the pen name “Dr. Bacteria.” Then I find out you’re a fellow scientist! My head exploded. What field are you in? And where can I find your fiction to read/comment?
Well I write fanfiction mostly. I’ve been in different fandoms for almost 20 years now (since I was thirteen, and will be 33 next month). I’ve written for fandoms like Buffy, LOTR, Backstreet Boys (It was 1999-2008 and they are still going strong now), old school Star Wars (mostly Han/Leia my first otp). Then I wrote Twilight fic, and some Once Upon a Time drabbles you can see on my blog here. I wrote some metas here and there as well.
Right now though I’m on AO3.org with the same username. I write Star Wars fanfic again - only this time about the child of my first OTP in a modern AU setting. My problematic fave Ben Solo/Kylo Ren. It’s basically healthy BDSM erotica filth with plot, fluff, angst and loads of snark.
As for my research, I’m a graduate student (so not yet a doctor) in Microbiology and Immunology. I’m studying molecular virology, specifically the use of CRISPR Cas9 as a therapy against HIV.

Update will be coming this week! I have one and a half scenes left to write and then edit the moodboard since I moved some things around. If I’m not too tired after work tomorrow I should be able to get it out by Tuesday or Wednesday! So be on the lookout!
