So I was just thinking about how Irvine is the one whose consciousness is sent into the past at the same time as Squall for the Laguna and Kiros Winhill flashback.

We can assume Squall is either already at D-District prison or en route after being impaled and captured. Not at all weird for nobody to have been the wiser that he was in the ‘dream world’ and not just unconscious because of his wound.

But Irvine? Where was he? How did he avoid being captured? Had he made it back to or been picked up Caraway? Did Caraway (or someone in his employ) just find him unconscious after the fight?

It’s also interesting to think that Ellone made a point to attach someone (Zell) to Ward at the same point in time, although he wasn’t with Laguna and Kiros in Winhill. What purpose did that serve other than to give the characters some inside info about the prison to aid in their escape?

If you don’t have Ward with you for the Trabia movie shoot sequence, does that mean that someone else was similarly attached to Ward wherever he was?

I know that particular flashback was one where Ellone wasn’t entirely in control because she was sleeping. But that’s the only one as far as we know. And she doesn’t appear to ‘talk’ to whoever else you chose to take along for that one. Just Squall.

Still, does that mean that while Kiros and Laguna were fighting that Ruby Dragon, someone else is just inside of Ward while he eats a sandwich and goes, “………” somewhere?

Honestly, even the Deling City/Julia and Centra excavation flashbacks come under scrutiny once you know what Ellone’s goal was.

If she had succeeded in changing events that far back, it could’ve prevented Squall and Rinoa both from existing.

Playing the game when I was younger I found Winhill to be this charming little place. Playing as an adult I’m aware of how spiteful the people are. We can only speculate as to exactly how things went down when Raine died but the facts are that this whole town claimed to adore her (and Ellone) yet not one of them stepped up to care for the now twice-orphaned Ellone and newborn Squall.

They had it in for Laguna because??? Because he fell in love with Raine and wanted to make a life with her and Ellone there?
