During the Christmas holidays I turned on a random Spotify list to listen to while I was cleaning my room. Most of the songs I’d already heard on the radio a couple of times, but at some point another song came up, which grabbed my attention. However, the only words I clearly understood were ‘Once I was 7 years old’ and sometimes a variation of the 7. I thought that the repetition was interesting, so I decided to look up which song this was and the lyrics.
It turned out to be the song 7 Years, by Lukas Graham and when I looked at the lyrics, it seemed as if he was telling a story about himself. I listened to it again and as the song developed it kind of touched me and I sort of felt what it feels like to come across those things he mentions in his song. When I searched on the internet I found that Lukas Graham explained parts of his lyrics as well, which made the song even more personal.
I’m very happy that I learned about this song. I don’t think it really affected me or that it has changed anything in my life, but I do think that when listening to this song you realise that there are some things you need in your life.
