CROATIA
Croatia has been at festival for some years, and during first 90ās they were always near top 10. After that their results havenāt been that good, but their entries, usually performed in Croatian, tends to be memorables, specially their ballads.
-Vjerujem u ljubav, Dragonfly feat. Dado TopiÄ (2007)
A nice rock ballad totally underrated that year. The singers were very good and they didnāt need a exaggerated staggering to instill the melancholy and sadness of the song.Ā
-Lako je sve, Feminnem (2010)
Feminnem had already been at the festival as Bosnia & Herzegovina artists in 2005, but I think this entry is better. A pop ballad beautifully performed. It didnāt have the luck to get a place in the final. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
-Moja stikla, Severina (2006)
If I had to choose an special senseless entry in general, it should be this one. Severina is a controversial figure in her country, the important part of the lyrics is a list of food that ends with a loud āAfrica, paprikaā, and the music and the choreography is totally ethnic. I mean. Amazing.
-Lighthouse, NinaĀ KraljiÄ (2016)
Probably the best Croatian song but the staging was⦠too much (and Ninaās voice was a little nervous). Itās a beautiful and epic ballad, moving and inspiring, Ā that grows up to the end. One of these that gives you goose bumps. My fave from this country.
-Crazy, Franka (2018)
Another ballad, this time elegant and powerful. Franka was stunning and her voice perfect. Unfortunately, she didnāt get a place on the final.
