“You know as lovely as this little reunion is and how much I’d love to recount my little daring almost escape can we please wrap this up. I got places to be,” Felix interrupted.

“The only place you're going is a cell so I think you can hold on,” you shot him a glare and he rolled his eyes dramatically.

“So how’d you do it?” your father repeated.

“Well, when you’re not flashing your badge everywhere you can blend into crowds pretty well. Caught wind of one of their hideouts. I laid low until Felix left for supplies. Followed him long enough Locus couldn’t back him up but short enough whoever he was going to wouldn’t be able to save his ass. You know I like to keep it simple so played damsel in distress saying I had some car trouble then when his back was turned gave him one good blow to the back of the head and he was out,” you explained. You had gone over this story a thousand times in case anyone asked though you never expected it to be your father asking.

“I like that version,” the hairs on your neck stood again and you took a step closer to Felix. “But see I had this feeling so I had you followed and no one could see anything out of the ordinary until once a cop followed you home but you never left your apartment and the next morning you entered so we watched a little closer and what we discovered broke my heart. My own daughter working with the bad guys. I thought I raised you right.”

“Make some noise on my count,” Locus’ voice buzzed in your ear. “Three… Two…”

“Well,” your dad raised an eyebrow.”

“One!”

“Yeah, well, you know what?! I thought my dad was a good guy turns out the only ones with their heads screwed on was those three!” you shouted.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough of a distraction. Your dad heard something and stood up straighter, “What was that?” He cocked his gun and looked at you with disdain, “We’re not done.”

You only caught a glimpse of blood as your dad slipped out and locked the door behind you.

“Unlock yourself we’re going now,” you commanded as you climbed on your dad’s desk and pulled out your keys to unlock the air vent.

“”What are you doing?” Felix asked with concern as he freed his wrists.

“We are leaving. We’ll figure out another way in another time. We aren’t risking this,” you shook your head.

“By chance could that lead us to the evidence room,” Felix raised an eyebrow.

“You’re kidding me,” you gave him a look as he climbed on the desk with you.

“Not at all,” he smirked.

You rolled your eyes and climbed into the vent and scooted forward enough that Felix could follow. As soon as you heard the snap of the vent back in place you began crawling as fast as you could trying to remember exactly where the evidence room was.

“Foxtrot, what’s going on,” Locus voice boomed over the coms.

“We’re in the vents. We’re trying to get to the evidence room from here,” you explained.

“You’re in the vents?” he questioned.

“Oh, yeah. How are you holding down out there?” you questioned.

“Fine. They’re searching but I’m hidden for now. Whatever plan you have I suggest you move,” Locus urged.

“Wait. If you could get to the evidence room through the vents why didn’t we try that first,” Siris growled.

“Because the only air vents I know of are in important and well-guarded spots, such as daddy dearest office so back off and let us do our job. We’ll give the signal when it’s time to pull the car around,” you commanded.

“I love a woman in charge,” Felix purred behind you.

You rolled your eyes, “Come on hotshot. Not too much further.”

“What a shame. I’m quite enjoying the view,” he teased.

You shook your head and took another turn going a little further before stopping over a dimly lit room, “We’re here.”

You paused for any signs of guards before backing up and kicking the grate a few times before it fell off with a clang. You jumped out of the vent and went straight for the weapons locker.

“No. Ammo in here since this is evidence and nothing is loaded so we have to go with the basics,” you said and tossed Felix a crowbar before picking up a baseball bat for yourself. You bent down and unstrapped a gun and the spare round you had for it. “Don’t say I’ve never gotten you anything.”

“For me, you shouldn’t have,” Felix joked and looked around, poking at a few of the boxes.

“C4 is over here. Locked up so only a very few can access it. Luckily security is shit in here and they don’t change keys,” you jingled your key ring and popped open the box. Luckily you had caught an explosives expert right before all of this and his investigation was still ongoing.

“Half for me, half for you,” you told him passing a few bricks over. “Remember where to place them?”

“Of course. Last to the car is a bitch,” Felix teased and went for the door. “Oh, almost forgot something.” Felix let go of the door and turned back to you.

“I’m not letting you take an-“ you were cut off with Felix’s lips on yours. You didn’t hesitate for second and wrapped an arm around his neck to deepen the kiss. “‘Bout time.”

Felix just smirked and left without another word. You were out the door second after him. You knew the whole station would be on the lookout for you so you were quick but careful as you planted the C4 around the building.

You were done and almost out the door when you heard a gun cock behind you. You went to reach for yours but your dad growled, “Don’t even think about it Y/N.”

You sighed and raised your hands. As you turned around you took a step back, hiding it in the motion.

“You gonna shoot me?” you questioned.

“If I have to. I don’t want to,” he replied.

“If you didn’t want to you wouldn’t point that at me,” you tried.

He smirked and it made you feel sick, “You think I do any of this because I want to? I do this because it’s what needs to be done to keep this city running. If you haven’t noticed the richest are criminals. They fuel our city. If they go down money isn’t spent, poverty seeps in. Everyone turns into a criminal then.”

“They have all the money because you let them. They are stealing from everyone but you keep telling yourself all those lies. Someone will believe them eventually but not me,” you spat.

He lowered his gun to say something but you took the moment to pull out your weapon and shoot his hand causing him to drop it.

“What the fuck?!” he shouted and went for it but you cocked the gun and he froze. “You’re not going to shoot your old man.”

“You’re right. I’m not. My old man died the day he started dealing with Lozano and every other criminal in this city. I’m killing the bad guy,” you hesitated for only a second before you pulled the trigger and went running out the back door.

You made sure no one followed you as you made your way to the car. You had given Siris the signal awhile ago. You didn't say anything as you climbed in. You were the first one in. It was quiet and awkward as you passed him the detonator.

“I don’t exactly agree with this plan or Locus and Felix bringing you into our group but I can’t say I don’t believe you’re on our side now,” Siris said softly. You knew he had heard everything, Locus too, possibly Felix if he had his earpiece in.

Locus hopped in the front seat, “Felix isn’t on coms. He ditched the earpiece. He knows the deal. Five minutes.”

“What?!” your eyes went wide.

“If he’s the last one in the building he gets five minutes then we blow the place. We can’t ruin the opportunity of the cops discovering our plan because we waited and Felix was dead on the floor the whole time,” Locus spoke calmly.

“Then I’ll get him,” you growled and tugged on the door but it wouldn’t budge.

“We can’t afford to lose you too if he’s gone,” Siris told you not looking back. You could tell he wasn’t thrilled about locking you but it was how these kinds of things worked.

You sat silently, watching your watch, the knot in your stomach tightened with each passing second.

“Just one more minute,” you pleaded.

“I’m sorry,” Siris told you in a solemn tone as he detonated the C4.

“No!” you screamed and smacked at the window.

“Aww, you do care,” Felix joked as he opened up the door behind you. You turned and while you wanted to hit him instead you pounced on him in a hug. He chuckled and rubbed your back.

“You’re an asshole,” you mumbled against him.

“Just because the two of you are close now,” Siris began, Felix dropped his hand off of you. It’s true the two of you had grown closer but nothing more than touches and little quips. It’s not like you swapped tragic back stories or slept together, at least not in the way that didn’t involve actual sleep. “Doesn’t mean she’s on our side. How do we know she hasn’t slipped information to her father at some point?”

You had been permitted from the three to visit your father, go about your business as if everything was normal to keep up appearances and to grab intel when you could.

“Guess we’ll find out tomorrow though I’ve been one hundred cooperative since you kidnapped me,” you pointed out.

Siris stared you down for a moment but then backed off, mumbling something about looking for the best vantage point and snatching the blue prints of the table.

“What a drama queen,” Felix rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. You snorted and he shot you a glare.

“We have important business to go over,” Locus finally spoke up.

“And what’s that? We have the plan down. I’ll wear my ear piece,” Felix promised. Though you had a feeling the only way that boy would keep his ear piece in was if the two of you super glued to his head.

“Codenames,” he corrected.

“Yeah. Yeah. I’m Felix. You’re Locus. He’s Siris. She’s-” Felix stopped himself and looked over at Locus who nodded.

“We all chose our own. You get to choose yours,” Locus told you.

You nodded racking your brain for for something, smiling as one hit you, “Foxtrot.”

“As in whiskey tango foxtrot?” Felix asked.

“Yes. I like it,” you replied, crossing your arms.

“Foxes are sly, cunning, and fast. Fitting. Plus now you can’t say shit when I call you Foxy,” Felix joked. You gave him a light punch to the shoulder.

“Foxtrot,” Locus nodded, you had a strong feeling you’d never hear your real name from him ever again and it caused a strange feeling to wash over you.

“Ready to go home, Fox?” Felix asked. You nodded, giving him a small smile.

Home was no longer your apartment. You occasionally head back there after visiting with your father but anything you needed had been moved to Felix’s apartment now. Him, Locus, and Siris never let you out of their sight however Felix’s was the only apartment you have seen. The other two never volunteered or argued when Felix brought you to his home.

“Think this will work?” you asked after laying in bed sleepless for an hour. You knew Felix wasn’t asleep either. His breathing hadn’t steadied, no light snoring.

“I think we are as prepared as we could possibly be. I think we will survive. I’m ready if things go sideways but if anything we’ll cause some trouble tomorrow,” he replied rolling onto his back.

“Not exactly the pep talk I was hoping for,” you laughed and rolled on your side to face him.

“Sorry. My track record is a little shaky and you are still an undecided factor in all this,” he admitted looking over at you.

“Well, after tomorrow you’ll know I’m a good guy too,” you told him rolling onto your back again.

“Didn’t realize good guys blew up police stations,” he smirked.

“They do when they’re the bad guys,” you replied.

You laid there in silence awhile longer until sleep finally over came you both.

The next morning the four of you met up one last time before setting off. Siris was playing sniper and getaway driver. Locus was the muscle once you were inside. Felix was the distraction. You were the inside man.

“You sure I can get out of these?” Felix asked as the two of you drove towards the police station.

“Are you kidding me? You not only have the key but I showed you how to unlock them even if you lost it,” you rolled your eyes.

“Do you think they’ll really believe you caught me?” he questioned, smile playing on his lips. Felix was being extra pesky today but you expected nothing less.

“I can rough you up a bit. Give you a shiner like you did to me when we first met. Finally get you back for that,” you teased.

“And mess with my pretty face? No thanks,” he huffed and sat back in his seat.

“Just shut up and play your part,” you laughed as you threw the car into park.

You got out and led Felix into the police station. Pushing him through the front door with a look of distain on your face.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” one of the officers grinned from behind the front desk.

“Just doing what you boys can’t. While you were sitting around I caught the one and only Felix,” you grinned wickedly.

A few of them made whooping noises at your comment.

“Where’s the partner?” he asked leaning across the desk for a better look.

“Are you serious? That man is a beast. I’m strong but I’m calling for back up when I bring him in,” you replied.

“Not very chatty is he?” another cop asked.

“You guys are making him shy,” you joked.

Felix chuckled, “Just trying to decide which one of you I’m going to shoot first once I’m out of these handcuffs.” You made a face and shoved Felix, “Ouch. Be nice. I bruise easily.”

Another cop appeared from the back and whispered to the first one. The first cop waved him off and turned to you, “Seems Daddy wants to congratulate you personally. He wants you to bring the weasel, see for himself and all.”

All the hairs on the back of your neck stood straight up. Never did your father ask for you to bring your bounties into the back, something was wrong.

“Oh. A personal greeting from the head honcho himself,” Felix chided.

“Keep moving and keep your trap shut,” you pushed him again, heading to your father’s office hoping your little trap comment was enough to tip off Locus and Siris.

The officer leading you back let you in Felix in before you heard the door click shut and the softest sound of a lock falling into place. You looked over your shoulder to see two of the larger officers outlined in the window of the office.
