thermostat on a timer by @dustymouths
execution by the morning light
like you don't even need the sun
i'm the piece of gum you swallowed
i'm the shoes on the phoneline
stuck on you like rare-earth magnets
you're like really hard to care for
shotgun shells as yr breakfast
like its some sort of crime
cause of death: embarrassment
i can touch you but i can't taste
girl with a single bedpost but she's whittled it
down real thin like a toothpick
girl with a heart like a six-speed transmission
your insides are trusses and ladders
and winding stairs made of cast iron
girl w/a body like an armoire
the kind with the diamond grit
the kind they might use to sharpen glass
my tongue is speaking in stomachs
don't worry baby i'm just the dress rehearsal
hanging onto one single second
forever last fall when you just left me
to dry up on the sidewalk
but i got stepped on and dragged across town
and i wound up in someone else's yard
your heart is a glass of whiskey & mine is
a ball of ice abt the size of my fist dusty enough
but when you reached the end of the spool you couldn't
bring yrself to reel it back in so you just let go
now the significance of the moments you really want
to remember is the way they go undocumented
