I am fine.’ I would text. I heard sounds of trees falling in the dark & had no clue to location. Without #texting I would have been completely overwrought… But now the sun is coming up & I did sleep somewhat so I want to venture out. Thank you kindly to all who sent me messages here & thru FB. Day 18 on the Portuguese Camino: Baiona to Vigo (26km). Possibly our best day yet, certainly one of the most varied. We depart our fortress hotel as the sun is rising. We pass through a town where vendors are setting up for market day, then cross a 13th century Romanesque bridge. We walk along the beach for a spell, visit possibly the most striking church of our journey, then pass through forest paths with epic views of the Atlantic.
