How can I tell whether I'm a feeler vs a thinker? Is it about being sensitive vs not? I've heard it's about how you make decisions, but I find that depending on the situation I'll either choose based on what I prefer and makes me feel good, or what will bring the best objective results. I find both criteria to be very important.
Feelers focus on the ethical implications of what they encounter in daily life and prioritize that over the facts, whereas thinkers do the opposite.
If you focus on how people are affected (or yourself) and use that as foremost in your argument against something, you are a feeler (their emotions, how this hurts people, etc); if you focus on the facts, how things are irrational or stupid or untenable or won't work on a practical level, and use that to frame your argument, you are a thinker.
Feeling dominants struggle to step back from their emotional POV and consider the logic of a situation; thinking dominants do the opposite. Those with feeling/thinking in the middle of their stack switch between the two more easily, but still feel better when going with their initial functional response (a feeler might make a rational decision, but it pains them because it doesn't feel authentic; a thinker might make an emotional decision, but it feels like sacrificing reason for feelings).
