Blue was the color they always associated with sadness and gloom. But not him — for the blue reminds him of the ocean, where she laughed as he took a photo of her, as the waves worshipped her legs. The blue reminds him of the cloudless sky. She stared at it with the same way he stared at her — eyes transfixed in enchantment, as if she never wanna look away. The blue reminds him of the color of her room — the very walls that witnessed how she cried when she was upset, and how she baltered when she was excited — the very walls that saw how peaceful she looked when she was asleep, and how exquisite she looked when she was awake. But most of all, the blue reminds him of her eyes. No, they didn't have the same shade as his favorite polo shirt, or roses chemically sprayed to look blue. They looked like sapphires encased in the crescent moons, to which her eyes slightly turned to when she smiled. They looked like pearls that inspired the color of mariposa butterflies. They looked like the northern lights in round and smaller forms. They looked like the planet Neptune duplicated, reduced to size, and brought to Earth. He could go on romanticizing and searching for metaphors about her blue orbs and how they captivated him from when she opened them in the morning til she closed them at night. But it all goes down to one thing about her blue eyes and it was that they looked like the rest of his life.
