Barry M Confetti Effects Swatches - Liquorice & Bubblegum
Hello! I've got some more swatches for you today. Yesterday, I showed you the full range of new Gelly's that Barry M have brought out, today I've got a couple of the Confetti Effect polishes to show you. There are five polishes in this collection also, but in a rare act of restraint, I have just gone for Liquorice and Bubblegum, as I believe the other three colours to be very similar to the recent Feather Effect polishes that Invogue released. With these polishes you can either use them as a topper over another colour, or build them up further. Today I'm just going to show you them as a topper over another polish, as I prefer that effect!
So first up, Liquorice. This is a clear base with loads of black and white strands of matte bar glitter. I've layered this polish over the new Barry M Gelly polishes; Mango and Key Lime.
This is one coat of Liquorice and I think it looks pretty neat over a bright contrasting colour. Personally, I'm more of a fan of nail art, but for a quick, easy, jazzy manicure, this does the trick indeed.
Next we have Bubblegum. This again is a clear base with loads of strands of matte white and light blue bar glitter. I've layered this polish over the new Barry M Gelly polishes; Guava and Blue Grape.
This is one coat of Bubblegum. I think it pops out more over Blue Grape, but has a really nice subtle effect over Guava.
So, what do you think? Will you be trying any of these polishes out? I think I will give them both a go layering them up very soon.

Invogue Feathers Effect - Swatches
Squeee! I've got some exciting swatches to show you today! Invogue is a brand new range of polish that has recently been launched, and you can currently buy these polishes in Superdrug. Invogue Polishes are also available from ohbeauty.co.uk. I've picked myself up a few of these polishes and the first batch I am going to show you are their Feather Effect polishes. Now, Nails Inc launched a similar range a few months ago, but these are far more affordable at £3.95 a bottle. I'm not normally a fan of bar glitter but I thought I'd give these a go anyway.
There are four polishes in this range; On The Money (green), Jaye Bird (Blue), Parakeet (multi) and Sunset (peach). Overall, these polishes all need a base colour (to save having to coat layers and layers to go opaque), however they are pleasingly quick drying. Also, be wary that you might get the odd strand hanging over then of your nail, I just poked these back on / off before the polish had dried.
First up is On The Money, This is a clear base with very fine strands of green, yellow and blue glitter.
This is two coats on On The Money layered over Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Greenberry.
Next, we have Jaye Bird. This is a clear base with very fine strands of blue and white glitter. I really love this colour combination, it's so unusual.
I layered three coats of Jaye Bird over Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.
The next polish I have to show you is Parakeet. This is a clear base with fine strands of yellow, blue and peach glitter.
I painted three coats of Parakeet over Collection Cosmetics Fruit Loop.
Finally, this is Sunset. This is a clear base with fine strands of white and pale peach glitter.
I layered three coats of Sunset over Collection Cosmetics Fruit Loop.
So, what do you think? I was pleasantly surprised by these polishes (given my strand glitter hate!) and I love that they are a matte finish rather than sparkly, it makes them a bit difference. And, again, it's lovely to see a new AFFORDABLE brand on the market for us in the UK, so at the moment Invogue is getting a massive thumbs up from me.
Stay tuned over the next few days as I've also put their Suede Effects and High Res Glitter to the test.
