Getting out of bed
I find that the hardest part of my day begins with getting out of bed, roused from sleep only to have to return later in the darkness of the night to face all my fears. Surrender yourself to your pillow, but count not the shadows creeping in around you. Only the morning light will save you...

My only escape is to go to sleep...even though i fear of sleep.
Not Dead
I am not dead.
The words keep cycling through my head. I keep having to remind myself that I made it through the night and I am mostly okay.
Being on insulin shots instead of the pump really can screw with everything. Last night while drinking a beer with friends I started at 203. I took a shot for the sugar and the beer (I know I ought to have taken 4 units, but I only took one). An hour and a half later I am 159. Less than 20 minutes later I am 115. I promptly get sick (which has never happened in public before). I get pjs from a friend quickly clean up and check my sugar again before I leave, 119. I think I am okay and drive home. The maximum that drive can take is 20 minutes ... I park and am 109. Five minutes or so later (I live on the third floor) I am 70. I eat a huge piece of cake with frosting ... an hour later I am 60.
I haven't dropped like that in quite some time. Scared me senseless. I am sitting there at 60 and can feel myself slipping away. I think I am going to pass out... keep dropping and not wake up.
I grab food (a mini box of cereal and a granola bar). At 5 am or so I finally am up to 90. I keep track till 7am though, terrified of falling asleep.
Sleep tight... you're not dead yet.
