art trade with @skyspersonalhell i made a few months ago :)
FE Engage would be a lot more fun if it was actually self-aware and whimsical rather than just kind of hollow and ineptly self-serious (story-wise, gameplay-wise it's quite solid).
Like the basic premise of the story is that the player character awakens as the dragon god blorbo of three out of the world's four richest families whose kids have all been nursing a parasocial relationship with your sleeping beauty glass coffin situationed self for multiple generations. You are basically the plastic skull on the mantelpiece that they've been dumping their troubles and woes and hopes and dreams onto ever since they were old enough for formal religious indoctrination to start.
That is, objectively, a hilarious position to be in. The first fuck up this story makes is having Alear not remember or retain an awareness of any specifics beyond a vague sense of familiarity. They should have gone in the opposite direction -- Alear wakes up with all the deep lore on the royal heirs of three different kingdoms AND THEIR PARENTS (who did this too) stuck in their head despite not even recollecting their own past because they were basically a coma patient absorbing this information and translating it to themselves via dreams for the past thousand years. Alear doesn't know who they are or what the date is but they know that Timerra once stole and ate an entire banquet spread and blamed it on the dogs. The game could have had a book of character cheat lore information and with every other companion and emblem you have to build that shit up gradually through supports/bonds, but with the royal families it's just entirely filled out with special embarrassing bonus details from go. This should combine terribly with Alear's general lack of worldliness into moments like The Divine Dragon curiously asking if Diamant's dad ever resolved that whole bedwetting situation to his satisfaction because he never told them and he seemed so upset about it at the time (he was seven).
Like imagine if your entire family and most of your biggest political rivals/allies shared a diary that came to life and was Dragon Jesus and was also kind of stupid & very tactless. Remarkable comedic potential that's totally wasted on the actual game.
loving hands, heavy hands @aaronieros

forgot to post Character design that still doesn't have a fullbody. He's a dragon for FE: Engage (but he can't actually shift anymore so he's just stuck as some guy :3c)
