FBAWTFT Realization!
So the Occamy. It’s choranaptyxic, right? Which means it can grow or shrink to fit the available space. I just realized that the Occamy only does this when it is inside something, not just out in the world, because it could never grow to be that big (the maximum length of an adult is only fifteen feet after all).
The female Occamy who—I call her Jane—gets loose, only grows to fit the Ginzberg Delaunay department store attic and inside the teacup, never outside in the real world (she’s still her hatchling size). This goes for Jacob* and all the other Occamies inside Newt’s case. Because the case is outfitted to look like their natural habitat and other’s (basically a small world of its own), they don’t feel like or have the need to grow to fit the space, but would if they were inside something that’s in the case, like a crate or Newt’s shed.
*I’ve named the Occamy that Jacob Kowalski had after him. Seems fitting and something Newt would do, I would think. I nice American name (like Jane, too).
