The kid sibling falling for their brother’s best friend is such a cliché, but it’s a tale as old as time for a reason.

Ferris knows long before you do that Cameron likes you.

And, of course, he knows long before Cameron does that you like him.

Jeanie teasingly calls Cameron your boyfriend long before you admit your feelings for one another, much to your embarrassment.

She even makes comments about it in front of him, but he’s always assumed that she’s messing with him.

Ferris has far more subtlety than Jeanie, but, despite Jeanie’s contempt for Ferris, making fun of you and Cameron for your crushes is something that brings them together.

For as long as you can remember, Cameron’s always been shy around you.

You’ve always been a little shy around him, too.

But, over the years, you’ve each had bold moments in which these nerves have been bypassed, giving you a glimpse into one another’s personalities without the shyness as a factor.

Sometimes, Cameron will stop by when Ferris isn’t home with hopes of spending some time with you while he waits.

Ferris often invites you to hang out with him, Sloane and Cameron, making the excuse that he doesn’t want Cameron to feel like the third wheel. Yeah, right.

Of course, with Cameron being the way that he is and with you being the way that you are, you spend the better part of two decades fruitlessly pining after one another until either one of you makes a move.

His day off with Ferris and Sloane is what pushes him to tell you how he feels.

Of course, he doesn’t need Ferris’ permission to ask you out, nor is it up to Ferris whether you say yes, but he makes sure that Ferris is okay with it.

Which, of course he is.

He wants you both to be happy and he trusts Cameron to be good to you.

His one stipulation? Don’t make out in front of him.

He doesn’t need to see that.

When you get together

Ferris takes the opportunity to do a facetious protective brother speech, because of course he does.

I’d like to think that Jeanie is skeptical enough of Cam to privately threaten him with full seriousness.

She tells him that she doesn’t care that he’s Ferris’ best friend; she’ll ‘get him’ if he ever does wrong by you.

It kinda freaks him out, if he’s being honest.

She’ll regularly ask you about how your relationship is going, both because she’s nosy and because she cares about you.

To begin with, Cameron is very very self-conscious about PDA in front of your brother.

It feels awkward and weird.

Sure, Ferris, who isn’t bothered by it, has to tell Cam that he doesn’t mind if he gives you a peck on the cheek or puts his arms around you or something.

But, after giving Cam that reassurance, Ferris will jokingly make gagging noises whenever you show one another affection in front of him.

If/when you and Cameron fight and you’re taking a while to make up, Ferris insists on playing the mediator.

Depending on who he favours that day, Ferris jokes about who he’ll pick if you guys break up.

(Of course, he prays that you guys stay together, in part so there’s no uncomfortable fallout involving two of the people he’s closest to)

Jeanie is almost always on your side in fights, often to spite Cam and Ferris.

If she ever does stick up for Cameron, you know you’ve done something wrong.

When it comes to certain things in the relationship, Cameron absolutely doesn’t want to ask Ferris for advice because Ferris probably doesn’t want some intimate information about what Cameron is doing to/with you.

So, he’ll have to consult Sloane, who’s more than happy to help and promises not to pass any information onto Ferris.

Typically, though, Ferris tends to be the first person you tell when you have big news (when you’ve decided to move in together, if you get engaged etc.)

As much as he teasingly tells you how cute you guys are together, he is happy for you both.

Jeanie is, too. 

At least, she’s happy that you’re happy.

Even if she heavily implies with everything that she does and says that she thinks you’re too good for Cam.

You assure Cameron that she’s probably joking.

But, you both know she probably isn’t.
